Dev Blog #15

 

Last week was intense!  But I'm glad I was able to get the update V0.1.40 published to the first round of Patrons.  

The release story is kind of funny.  I was going to a gaming conference last week and was bound and determined to get this release done before leaving for the conference on Thursday.  I've been working on the debugging and extending some scenes for over a week and the final push was pretty heavy.  I ended up working 22 hours straight on New Years day to close everything out and finish all of the testing and code fixes.  Ended up redrawing older sprites that day as well (because I'm a masochist apparently.)  Buuuut, Thursday morning at 7:30, I got it the release sent out, took a 3 hour nap, then drove a to the conference a few hours away haha and networked with other devs the whole weekend.  

Pale Horse is the man.  He held the fort down last week while I was out.  And thank you to everyone who sent all of the bug reports in in such a timely manner.  Pale Horse was able to fix the bugs as they came in and we were able to release two new hot patches to make the game hopefully pretty stable now.  At the conference, at night when I would go back to my hotel, I was reviewing the updates on my laptop pushing hot fixes out lol.  Then go back to the conference.

So, I'm planning to send the next release round to the rest of the Patrons this Wednesday.  Public should be next week or two.  After this release round, I'm going to wait for any bug reports.  Then I'll send the game out to be converted into Android.  The public release should be available on PC-MAC-Android when that time comes.

Anyways, welcome to all of the new supporters and thank to all of the existing supporters who have been there with me for awhile.  You have no idea how much I appreciate it.  It keeps me motivated knowing people think this game is alright :)

This year, should be different with content releases.  Now that the game code has been refactored for the most part, now we can focus on just content.  And I'm going to really attempt keeping the future updates a lot smaller so that I can release it out to everyone sooner and keep it more regular.  I'm already working on the next content :)
