I am having some weird jittering troubles with my simulation these past 2 days, especially when I am dealing with vertex map and target length, like you at 6:35 of the video... I really don't know what to do. I tried to improve the substeps / damping / collisions passes / polygons but nothing seems to work. Any idea ?
Quick update : puting a "freeze" above your "random field" seems to help. This way the vertex map will stay fixed even if the sphere is growing

Hi. Check a design tutorial about it. Actually it always depends on scene. There’s no general settings. Maybe just turn on hardware retracing support in render settings if you use CUDA GPU. + try to use advanced settings and adjust minimum and maximum sampling by hand. I try to avoid auto sampling.
