🟡 — Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got into voice acting?
Hey, I’m Matt Sadowski. I’ve been acting, writing, directing, and just generally trying to figure out how to make a living telling stories for a while now. Some people might know me as Bridge from Power Rangers: SPD, others might know me from my films like Pretend We’re Kissing—or, more likely, you don’t know me at all, in which case… nice to meet you!
Voice acting is something I’ve always wanted to do more of because, honestly, it’s pure storytelling. No costumes, no marks to hit, no worrying about whether I look tired on camera—just getting to live inside a character. Playing Noah in You, the Stars, and Me was an amazing experience. He’s messy, complicated, and stuck in his head—something I can relate to. Plus, there’s something about doing voice work from home, alone in a small, poorly ventilated blanket fort, that really helps you connect to a character who’s spiraling in isolation.
🟡 — Do you have a personal story or moment that really stuck with you along the way?
So, recording at home sounds great in theory. You don’t have to go anywhere, you can be in your pajamas, and you control the space. But what I didn’t anticipate was my digestive system turning into a villain.
I’d be deep in an emotional scene—Noah’s at rock bottom, I’m fully in the zone, giving it everything I have—and just as I pause for dramatic effect:
GGRRRRRRRGGLLLEEEE.
I had to stop recording so many times just to let my stomach settle.
🟡 — What did you enjoy most about working on You, The Stars, And Me?
What I loved about You, the Stars, and Me is how honest it is about heartbreak. Noah isn’t just sad—he’s overanalyzing, rationalizing, spiraling, bargaining. He’s doing all the dumb, desperate things we’ve all done after a breakup, whether we admit it or not. And I think that’s what makes him such a great character—he’s not some cool, collected protagonist who moves on overnight. He’s human. It helped a lot that their breakup mirrored one I had recently gone through, in a very art-imitating-life way, except I never got the answers I was looking for—or the opportunity to reconcile.
🟡 — What would you like to say to the listeners?
Look, if you’re here, it probably means you care about good storytelling, and that’s something we have in common. This series is about love and loss, but it’s also about finding your way back to yourself. Noah’s going through it—big time. And if you’ve ever had your heart smashed into a million pieces, you probably recognize some of what he’s feeling. And if you ever need to disappear into a story to get through it, that’s what this is for. Thanks for listening.
