Development Blogs
Added 2022-01-12 09:21:04 +0000 UTCHow frequently do you expect development blogs?
Since our focus is set on putting playable builds in your hand, we figured there might be different expectations around this topic.
Development Blogs will work as in-betweens to inform you of the progress within a specific period of time.
The creation of each development blog post costs between halve a day, to a full day of work for a single developer.
We will always showcase FINISHED systems, characters and environments when they are ready to go, outside of development blogs.

As a game dev my self , once a month seems more reasonable than any timeline :D Plus this is a game that we all want to see done with love and not with crunch .

2022-01-18 04:01:14 +0000 UTCThat and harassing the developers for updates could end up with a shoddy product if they have to keep updating all of us.

2022-01-16 21:14:28 +0000 UTC1/month is a good starting cadence for big projects. Might go to 2/month or weekly once the game is much further along, just to keep people hyped.

2022-01-13 05:35:34 +0000 UTCI know a lot of dev teams work in 2 week increments, so I would be inclined to pick that. But I also know there's not always a ton to show off in just that time for big projects, so monthly seems a bit better in this case.

2022-01-12 16:13:33 +0000 UTCI think it would be best to have Dev Blogs when there is something to present. With a strict release schedule for something like this is could become cumbersome and not really worth the effort for you or us. It would be nice to hear from you at least once a quarter but full on detailed Dev Blogs perhaps just when enough things are ready to show.

2022-01-12 15:01:01 +0000 UTCWeekly or biweekly works well for small VNs where their creators have the ability to chunk out pieces of story or mechanics. For a full on game I think that monthly is enough, as games like this one require a lot more work and fine tuning than a VN. Plus there's the added benefit of having more time to focus on the game rather that rushing to meet tight deadlines.

2022-01-12 14:48:21 +0000 UTCDefinitely better to err on the side of actually working on the project, over taking time away from real work to tell us about the work.

2022-01-12 14:29:28 +0000 UTCI think a monthly blog of development would be good, with maybe a bi-weekly bullet point style summary of current status of polls, suggestions etc that can be dropped on the discord

2022-01-12 12:33:32 +0000 UTCI'm going to agree with others and say once a month seems reasonable. I think we're all aware it takes time for the development of a game to bear fruit so once a month seems like a good medium between allowing time and receiving an update on current progress, what's being worked on / improved, etc.

2022-01-12 12:13:16 +0000 UTCRegular devblogs are nice to keep up with what's going on, but anything more than once a month feels excessive. It's not like major changes are constantly being made to the game, and the number of people who follow weekly updates is probably limited, too.

2022-01-12 12:03:30 +0000 UTCI think monthly blog updates make the most sense, because then you can focus more on actual development and it's also less work for us patrons to follow the development. Easier to read a blog post every month than every week. 12 posts vs 52 posts a year. Personally I also prefer reading longer posts.
