Ai Plant Pot

Check out my latest creation: A plant pot you can actually talk to.

This Plant pot was made with:
- Raspberry pi 5

-Adafruit Stemma Soil sensor

-Photo resistor

This project work by using Whisper V3 running real time voice recognition on the raspberry pi.

It then uses Open Ai Assistant API to get a response from your specific plant.

Then it uses Open AI TTS API to create a voice file which is played on the raspberry pi.

If you are looking to build this Check out my Build Manual: https://www.patreon.com/posts/ai-plant-pot-and-101731075

There you can find

-All the STL files needed for this build

-All the code to get this up and running

-A comprehensive step by step guide to making the Ai Plant pot.

I'm currently putting this project together but I'm already running into some issues. 1) When I encountered the error saying the raspberry pi libraries would need to be created using an external environment, I entered the command provided in the pdf but still had an error. I googled the issue and found that I had to create a virtual environment and then insert the pip commands. 2) I've read the pdf about installing the photoresistor and capacitor to a breadboard for the RC circuit but I did not see that in the list of materials along with an additional USB-C type power port for the base. 3) The pdf mentioned wiring that was supposed to come with the soil sensor and the LED lights but when I ordered them from the links provided, I did not have any wires. And in the BOM it mentions a USB sound card that someone in the comments mentioned was difficult to mount in the base. Will there be an updated pdf for this project at some point?

I have the same question Floyd Calvin Verdidia.

Jay Weden

Is there a build manual for the one where you use the arduino nano esp32?

Floyd Calvin Verdida

Thank you for your effort. I wanted to confirm whether there is a video explaining how to build this project step by step, or whether it is limited only to the manual file.

I tried with a 4, but couldn't get to work . But had almost no issues with 5.

Has anyone built this using another type of Raspberry Pi and not the 5? I have a 3 and a 4 and wanted to know if it would work.

Randy McCarthy

Do you have a timeline for when you’ll add the web server code to the repo?

Conlan0

I noticed with the provided print files that the base prints a few mm proud of the pot. Was it intentional? Also, the LED ring has a much smaller diameter in real life versus in your guide it appears to be flush with stand. Any insight? Did I get the wrong size?

Mark Devlin

Looks like someone in the comments here had luck with a pi 3 although I haven't done it myself!

Kevin Coda

Would it be possible to make this with a raspberry pi 3 or 4? Raspberry pi 5 is still very expensive :(

Emilie Wedenborg

Hey this is really cool and I can’t wait for your next uploads with Jarvis and holo mat but have you thought about tutorials on how to build code for each project

Ruchir Awate

Please try to also use F.R.I.D.A.Y soon with jarvis

Avinash Reddy

Ok thanks i am impressed about jarvis tho never seen anything like that… pure masterpiece

Hey, this group is for people who want early access to my projects. Its for helping me work through the code and test it out on a small group. I plan on eventually launching for free. All my files, code and manuals will just go here first. So if you don't mind waiting it will be free.

Kevin Coda

Sad i have to pay for code but i love your project tho

Tle

You definitely should! Let's do it! It would have a lot of knowledge about how to maintain and keep a tree. I was shocked what it knows. Let me know if you have any questions along the way. I would love to help.

Kevin Coda

A masterpiece before a masterpiece. I wonder if I can make this for a bonsai tree.
