EP 20: MEAT BUS FULLY REALIZED *UNLOCKED*

I'm feeling sentimental; this episode marks a special moment in what I hope will be a long history for the show. This episode is the essence of what Alex and I both envisioned when we first began recording. Our cover art is a picture of me hunched over the laptop after two failed attempts at our first episode, after which Alex was overcome by a migraine, and I had to complete our third attempt solo. We had no idea if it was good, or if anybody would listen. Making stupid little TikTok videos is easy, but this show has required more dedication than anything I've done before, and right now I'm really proud of it.
In this episode we cover:
eating rat meat and flies, male celebrity wrestling, Mormonism (again,) parental trauma, gay midlife crises, the Poppi and Adobe lawsuits, polyamory (again,) metaverse real estate, the humans behind AI, small talk, and the rudeness of asking people their star signs.

2024-07-25 01:59:29 +0000 UTCperhaps this is a reach but i feel like a lot of cis straight people in particular are so attached to meyers-briggs, enneagram, etc is because they have difficulty acquiring a solid sense of self and therefore turn to personality tests to tell them who they are, whereas figuring out our identity is something that queer people face and come to terms with at a young, more pivotal age

2024-06-19 19:47:25 +0000 UTCTmalss, taking a definition of queerness that is centered around being countercultural and expanding societal norms, as in the context of non-heterosexual relationships polyamory has been more and more accepted, polyamory in the context of heterosexual relationships is ultimately more controversial as it goes against the idea that sexuality in any form meaning conforming to norms and would be an example of how not even straightness can be a dog whistle/safe space for traditional family values and a restrictive perspective on inter-human-relationships.
