Through quick thinking on her part, Ze Spy has barely evaded capture yet again. It also appears that the uniform she has stolen has some rank associated with it, so it's not all bad luck today. As for her pursuers, it's more of a mixed bag: on the one hand they have lost the trail and interrupted a high ranking official's personal time; but on the other they have seen her out of uniform, which is a fond memory that they can take with them into their retirement.
When this story was suggested to me, my only issue with it was the involvement of dogs, simply because I'd never drawn dogs in any serious capacity before. I'd drawn llamas and quokkas and things like that in the past, but those were lesser known animals and I could fudge some details if I had to. Dogs, on the other hand, are everywhere, and everyone knows what they're supposed to look like. I could research, do sketches and studies, and get my dog drawing skills up to snuff, but I'm on a schedule. All that Leonardo DaVinci stuff is for people without day jobs, I can't be doing subtle renderings of dog anatomy: I've got Fs to EN here. So my solution was to keep the dog offstage as much as possible, and nowhere is that strategy more obvious than this page. Plus, Ze Spy is the star of the show. Perhaps Frau Elka can have the spotlight somewhere down the road, but it's the redhead's show for now.
