Even in the heart of the deepest jungle, Clara can't escape her nemesis, the infernal cheeseburger bird. Still, she's found a source of fruit, which is great news, probably a fair trade for her bra, which is now in the wind.
Yes, after a spooky break we're back in the jungle with Clara! I'd almost forgotten what she looked like over those last couple of weeks. She's the same as ever, though: ever curious, always scientific, and ready for whatever adventure comes her way. An additional note about composition for those of you who are inclined towards such things, I had to cheat with Percival's word balloon there. I usually do the dialogue last, and when I went to put in Percival's word balloon I realized I didn't leave room under the cheeseburger bird to place it.
Sure, I could have put it in the lower right, but it would be pretty isolated from the rest of the composition. I couldn't have it pass over the bird or the bra since they're essential to the story being told on the page, and I couldn't shorten the tail of the balloon because then it would look like the bird was talking rather than Percival. My final decision is what you see here, passing the balloon tail behind the bird, which while not ideal, is at least readable more or less. Just one of the many fun little corners that one paints oneself in when one is doing the comics. ๐
