Status Report
Added 2025-05-02 16:28:24 +0000 UTCHi! It's been a while since the last status report, this is what I'm working on right now:
- EmuDeck 3.0
I've started coding emudeck from scratch in Python so it's a single code base supporting Linux, Windows and macOS at the same time. This will take some weeks if not months to get it completed but it should speed up both Windows development, installation and launch time and also allow me to finally do a proper macOS release. I'm putting special focus on migrating from 2.x so it's seamless for the end user. This will be released for you guys as soon as I have parity with 2.x and only on the unstable branch. Either way It will be possible to switch between 2.x and 3.0 at any time.
- CloudSync & bugs
I'll keep an eye on the Discord server for CloudSync issues and other related bugs, there are almost none at this moment except some user here and there having issues that only seem to affect them and not the majority of the people.
- RetroLibrary
This will be launched hopefully before EmuDeck 3.0, if you haven't used it yet please give it a try, all the feedback I can get the better. I'm adding How long to beat and EmuAchievements soon so both data will be shown in the app for each game. I'm also looking for Android developers so I can port it to Android ( bringing CloudSync too! ) so EmuDeck can be a one step solution for Android too, no ETA on this one since I'm gonna need a lot of help to code it.
- EmuDeck Machine 2
Wait, what? Wasn't this dead? Well, the previous idea I tried it is but hear me out:
Open source, free to build and print for the end user.
Options to order an empty 3d printed case or a whole system with pre mounted hardware.
Those options will be done by a third party so it doesn't interfere with EmuDeck.
SteamOS based
Small set top box for your TV
Focused in Indie 2D Games 720P / 1080P. No AAA gaming
Emulation up to Wii U
Retro inspired design
Interchangeable top of the case so it can match your favourite retro console, some exclusive to patrons.
I already have working prototypes so this should happen soon enough!
Please don't leak any of this info since I want it to be a surprise.
And that's it, I think it's a pretty nice roadmap :)

Hola, actualize ayer Emudeck y el emulador de Switch me dejo de funcionar por completo, me pide todo de nuevo. Usaba Yuzzu sin problema desde hace mas de un año. Que tendría que hacer o perdi toda la configuración. Gracias

2025-05-07 12:36:24 +0000 UTCKnow what I would LOVE right now, an option to Sync on android, listen to me out for sec, a document on where to set saves to go for each emulator, and in the format you use, so we can use a 3rd party app, to sync with that folder, so on my shiny new Flip 2 that plays up to Switch games, I can sync my saves between Windows, my SteamDeck and my Android device now.... Hate starting a game and manually moving a save over to play on a different device....like am doing now. I don't mind the work manually setting up each emulator if the outcome solves the problem NOW.

2025-05-02 17:09:53 +0000 UTCFirst release of EmuDeck windows was like that but people complained it was really really slow. So I changed everything to be like it is on SteamOS, emulators on internal storage , everything else on the SD Card

2025-05-02 16:45:18 +0000 UTCPlease, make everything portable by installing it in a single folder. Not like the current solution - part in Documents folder, part on SD card. It will be nice to have everything on a single SD card so that I can just swap it between devices effortlessly.
