RetroLibrary & EmuDeck 2.3.8

What do I need to do to move everything out of Appdata? I have a small C drive and don't want multiple GB worth of emulators taking up very limited space.

that shouldn't have happened, you weren't using the emulation/saves folders to sync them? that didn't change a bit, what were you syncing?

quick fyi as well when i try to fully un-install srm i get an error message on emudeck saying "srm un-install fail. There was an issue trying to uninstall srm."

the exact error message is "error occurred while reading user settings" that's after i clear cache reinstall and then click reset config for custom parsers and settings. Its just like a blank steam rom manager screen now with this settings error.

Yeah a bunch of times doesn't work and on top of that all my links were deleted from steam. :( Ive tried all the limited things i can think of, when i try to recover settings it just gives me an error the next time i start steam rom manager that says error with custome config settings and parsers...

hi, no matter what I do, on the legion go, install gets stuck at RPCS3-save links. custom reset, quick reset, uninstall. any thoughts on this?

Forced Emudeck folder migration completely broke my SyncThing setup with no prior warning. Please don't automatically move this stuff in the future

Windows btw. Things like SRM being broken, EsDe not detecting emulators so I can't launch games. It's a mess.

Update completely broke my installation, having to do a full uninstall and reinstall. SRM is also broken.

having an issue with steam rom manager where custom settings and parsers wont work any more since 2.9.3 updated on my pc. I'm using windows and i keep getting error loading custom settings / parsers when loading steam rom manager.

I knew it did cloudsave before but it usually did that at the same time as it launching not forcing me to wait for it to check then start esde sadly

that's because CloudSync is checking for saves, if you do that then you are not using cloudsync

Now latest update 2.3.9 is causing ES-DE to take longer to load Update Only solution that made it faster is change directory within steam to not use es-de.sh and just run es-de appimage can you fix this

Hello! I am trying to perform the installation on a Steam Deck, but I am unable to authenticate with the Patreon token to use the cloud sync feature. The option to log into Patreon and enter the token is not being displayed. Additionally, it is not possible to complete the installation of version 2.3.8. When reaching the "Manage your emulators" screen, there is no option to proceed or finish.

This update broke shadps4 shortcuts to esde no longer works , after update the shortcuts don’t work and when checking meta data unable to select alternative emulator , but the games and emulator works so what is wrong with this , just got this update for it to fail this emulator only on esde , I followed all steps seems 2.3.8 broke something with shortcuts esde shadps4

Reinstall is for retro library, for the 2.3.8 changes you don’t have to do anything

Unsure if it was the reset i did, but i see now all thats in the old location is a symlink to the new location. Works as expected.

On a new linux machine i jumped from main 2.3.5 to dev 2.3.8 but im not seeing the home folder changes. The wording in that section is a bit confusing. Is from now on this update (2.3.8) or soon? Or am i not understanding what "Reinstall from EmuDeck to get this new features" implies? I dont see an option in emudeck to reinstall, unless a reset is sufficient

Solved, i changed the "start in" directory "now it goes to USER_NAME/AppData/Roaming/EmuDeck/Emulators/RetroArch and parsers are working now

Hi, Thanks for the update, but now RetroArch is not finding the retro nintendo consoles (i mean nes, snes and n64); trying to make it work, i reinstalled retroarch and the parser is not working.

Y'all broke the entire install like I can't even enjoy my benefits I pay for because I have to do the install process Everytime, then wants me to pay just to check my EA though I already am a Patreon member, then when it does install it cannot even parse anything like what happened to the auto detect thing that made this easy now made it hard to use and now I have to do a full Windows reinstall because of this software thanks!
