EXTENDED | Firearms Expert Reacts to The Matrix Guns | EXP

We need guns. Lots of guns.

That's right, it’s time to see how deep the rabbit hole goes, as Dave and Jonathan take a look at the guns of The Matrix, including Neo’s dual MP5Ks, Agent Smith’s iconic Desert Eagle and one of the best Mingun scenes in cinematic history.

Don't forget, as an Extended Episode patron you get an extra long episode with a bunch of extra content, a week earlier than the main feed, and it's ad-free.

In this episode of Expert Reacts on EXP, Jonathan Ferguson--an expert in firearms history and the Keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK--breaks down the guns from The Matrix, and compares them to their real-life counterparts with artefacts from the Royal Armouries archive.

Hey 9:47, domestic and non domestic building and energy surveyor here (wouldn’t call myself an expert though!) after WW2 in the uk, most domestic properties moved from solid brick walls to cavities created with two rows of brick, then after the 60s we actually starting filling the cavity with insulation. They tend to be 300-400mm thick, with the cavity not big enough to hide in and shoot guns. Plus you’d be shooting into brick. A good amount of our non domestic properties are retrofitted from pre-war or 60s and are again solid or cavity, with stucco boards for internal walls, though its rarely more than 100mm, so not enough to have a gun fight in! US buildings tend to prefer these crawl spaces as its better for heat dispersal, cheaper to build and better for repairs but also means they have the structural integrity of an eclair 😂
