Added 2025-02-28 15:00:18 +0000 UTCJonathan breaks down the weapons of the Captain America film franchise, including Capโs iconic Colt 1911 and Bucky's M249 (or is it...?)
The third episode of Expert Reacts on EXP is here, and we're off to the movies for the first time. As an Extended Episode patron you get an extra long episode with a bunch of extra weapons, a week earlier than the main feed, and it's ad-free. Enjoy!
Jonathan Ferguson, an expert in firearms history and the Keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK, breaks down the weapons of the Captain America film franchise, including Capโs iconic Colt 1911, the retro-futuristic, Tesseract-infused Hydra arsenal and Buckyโs M249 (that, as it turns out, isnโt Buckyโs at allโฆ)

2025-09-01 13:06:44 +0000 UTCSo I went back and watched First Avenger and as far as the car door, he picks it up totally a ok, but after he drops it and runs after baddie and the kid hes got a graze on his rib that kinda lines up with the lower impact from the 9mm. Was Johnathans followup with the prop-guy about the Zolanators ever published?

2025-08-19 06:58:25 +0000 UTCi wonder if cap being blown physically back by crossbones's grenade launcher might be because he doesn't know what Mk 47s are, and as such he wasn't expecting to have to brace for the explosion? this all hinges on his knowledge of contempary weapons, of course. it might also be because crossbones has found some way to potentially increase the explosive's power and resultant shockwave, maybe as anticipation from knowing who cap is and what he can do? just some theories of mine to help it make more sense.

2025-05-03 17:29:35 +0000 UTCThis was awesome! These videos are a reason why I'm paying much more attention the the weapons when I'm watching movies now. A look at the guns from the Die Hard series would be interesting. A lot of "older" firearms and film techniques to talk about there I reckon.

2025-02-28 21:15:59 +0000 UTCThe Zolanator took notes from Azrael's 3rd edition combi-bolter as far as magazine placement goes.

2025-02-28 20:54:09 +0000 UTCThis was great. The Matrix series would be a cool one to analyze too; still love the infinite armory scene in the endless white void from the first film.
