BIG Update: Summer Chunk Skip +more
Added 2019-06-13 00:18:11 +0000 UTC
So, I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I've been pretty darn backed up art wise and life wise. Both physically in what I need to do, and mentally; I've only had drive to work on personal projects really (mostly cause those projects I can work on in front of my kid).
Here is the plan...ish
I'm gonna skip putting out a Summer Art chunk for several reasons.
- Play catch-up. I have a lot of paid work I need to finish.
- Open for Patreon commissions to clear out the tally some. Not many seem to really want to use it on YCH it seems. I don't want you guys feeling annoyed when tally's go to waste.
- Completely flush out all un-paid work, rewards, and gifts. I've had several sitting on a shelf that have fallen behind since having a kid.
- Work on finishing up shop set-up under the new name for convention so it is ready by October. Kid means I need more sell-able online merch to make ends meet.
- Possibly re-tool some Patreon stuff, maybe do sketches again but differently with credits. I might need to close down use on commissions for a bit after this Summer until I can work more evenly. I'll still put them to use, just maybe not on full-on commissions for a little while, or re-vamp the credit system. IDK, I don't want to be unfair, so I might have everyone cash out on art with the current system before moving on to a new one.
- I'm probably gonna limit my adult commissions. I just can't get any of them done with any speed, and they just pile up while clean stuff I can work on while she plays is doable. I'm mostly able to work on my tablet more than PC. Plus, my PC tablet is dying. I need to get stuff done, since I can't afford a replacement at this time, and I don't want to do another huge thing to owe more art to get a new one like I did last time. I still owe art on it too because I suck.... uggh.
- I need to clear it out to reduce some of my art anxiety that has been stiffing me lately. I'm not gonna quite being an artist, but I kinda need a break from owing things to people. It happens to all of us at some point, so before I go full on burn-out I need to do this. I've been getting pretty unreliable as an artist the past few years, compared to just 4 years ago where my average turn around was 2 weeks or less. ><
- I might actually change up my Patreon too, I'd love to know any thoughts for the future you'd love to see. Might move to cheaper tiers, a monthly support model, upload stuff here instead of Google (see below)*, minor credit system for no huge stuff anymore.
SURVEY
I have a survey about google drive, Patreon usage, and direction I'd like as many of you as possible to take. Even if you don't pledge actively right now.
