The short story…

I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to be on Patreon due to their chosen business practices. The long story...

Five years ago, I was excited to find Patreon as a place to be able to share my digital art and games. Unfortunately, in recent years, they’ve made it increasingly difficult for me to want continue creating on their platform.

Over the past year or so, Patreon has put up more and more barriers to adult digital creators by lumping our pages in with real-life content (pornography with real people). This tendency for Patreon to treat digital art the same as real-world imagery is a problem because it associates us with the concerns that arise when real-life porn goes wrong (i.e. trafficking, abuse, revenge).

As many of you know and appreciate, I’m unapologetic in my creation of dark erotic art. It’s an incredible outlet and way to experience dark fantasy without dark realities. I hope you’d agree with me that art and virtual experiences are not the same as real life and should not be treated as such. Sadly, there are voices out there who get offended by all things sexual and decide to group everything together in their censorship propaganda all while claiming it’s for the “morality” or “safety” of society. I don’t buy that shit. If they don’t like sexual content, they don’t need to look at it but don’t spoil the fun for the rest of us 😉

I'm disappointed that Patreon has not found a better way to provide a more hassle-free experience for creators like me to continue using their platform as a digital artist. These kinds of setbacks take me away from the creation process and don’t help me continue getting the content out for you to enjoy.

In short, I’m not sure how much longer Dark Erotic 3D will be on Patreon, so this is a good chance to remind you that our SubscribeStar.Adult page is active, gets the same posts as here, and some of our fans are already over there.

I’ve personally made my own customer profile over there to try it out as a consumer and the process was easy. I like SS Adult because it’s dedicated solely to 18+ digitally created art so it’s more welcoming to artists who don’t rely on real people to create sexual images. Therefore on SubscribeStar, my hope is that we will be less likely to get caught up in this real world vs. fantasy world outcry we keep hearing from the growing pro-censorship, anti-pornography voices out there. Only time will tell.
