Update/Plans

Hello y’all!

With the comic now concluded, I thought it would be best to let everyone know my plans for the next chapter of my artistic journey. This is the first time in over 2 years I haven’t been actively working on a huge project like Star Crossed. For everyone who’s supported me up to this point, I thought I’d let you know what my plans are.

A break from ‘Big Comics’-

I love making comics. I wouldn’t have made a 50-page comic if I didn’t! But, I think I need a little break, at least from something huge like Star Crossed. It’s an absolutely taxing process, and I think I’d like to enjoy a little bit of time untethered from something so ambitious. However, I do still have plans in the realm of comic-making.

Mini Comics!-

I want to explore making mini-comics. Short, one-off pieces that let me play around with style and my process. Making something like Star Crossed can be limiting in the sense that things have to stay consistent. I’d love to just experiment more and see what happens. I have plans for something called “Star Crossed: Minis.” These would be 1-2 page mini-comics with the Star Crossed crew. They’d range from comedic, to horny, to more story-based things that progress the plot from where we see at the end of the comic.

More art!-

With no comic to work on, I’m HOPING that I’ll be more consistent with just posting art in general! I want to start doing a lot more than I am right now, and giving you guys as much as I’m capable of doing. At the same time, I want to become more ambitious with my posing, lighting, and composition. I want to use this time to really push myself and become an even better artist. There’s so much to improve, and I’m so excited to do it!

Also, I want to create a properly updated ref sheet for Ollie and do more stickers with them. It’s very overdue.

Collabs?-

One more thing I’d like to do more is collaborate with other artists. I love doing trades with people, but I haven’t done that in a long time! I’d also like to try out new kinds of projects that push my boundaries as a creative. I already have something lined up that I think you guys will enjoy, but it’s still early on so I won’t speak about that until there’s something to show off.

…A Big Comic?-

A bit further in the future, while I very much enjoy creating content with already established characters, I would like to branch out a bit and do something more original! I’ve been doing concept work for a comic called ‘Dragon’s Collar.’ It explores a small dom/big sub relationship dynamic and their journey going to a BDSM club for the first time and learning that sometimes BDSM can’t be put into stereotypes.

I do not know how long it will be until I start posting “Dragon’s Collar.” My guess is sometime in summer, but I don’t want to commit to anything yet. In the meantime, you’re going to see me start posting art of the characters in the comic as I get used to them and work on their designs and stories.

That's all I have for you guys. Thank you all SO much for your support. It really means the WORLD to me!

It's great you have some ideas and plans already for the future, I'll definitely remain excited for everything coming from your hand! <3 I can understand the break from big comics for a while, it can be quite draining to stick with one project for such a long time. Diversion is extremely important when it comes to art. I saw other good artists doing the same. For example splitting huge comic projects in chapters, creating one and then taking a break from it for a while. It's also a good way to build excitement in a fanbase for the next chapter coming up. Mini comics are a great concept as well, especially when it's a nice mix of different things, like you described. It's easier to focus on and still provides a good chunk of entertainment, compared to single artworks, which are still great, of course. I am certainly excited for the "Dragon's Collar" project, I love such a big sub/small dom relationship and the character really intrigue me, especially Rurik, for more or less obvious reasons, hehe. But take your time with it. I am sure, no matter what creations you will make in future, it will be enjoyable and worthwhile in any case. ;)
