This was stuck in the Draft folder yesterday, but we wanted to be sure to still get out one final WIPWednesday post before next month's release "Fathom's-End Prison" comes out next Monday. Check out the artwork and lore excerpt for the Blank Deepwarden!
Deepwardens are intelligent constructs developed by the Blank for one purpose and one purpose only, to guard the prisoners of their supermax prisons. Deepwardens are not the only defense to stop a prisoner from escaping, but their ability to crush their foes, destroy enemies with cannons, stun prisoners and grapple them within massive claws to return them to their cells make them one of the more intimidating guardians of Blank prisons. More than just mindless golems or clockwork constructions, deepwardens possess intelligence and personalities. Many of them develop animosity towards prisoners in their care, and it is not uncommon for a deepwarden to “accidentally” use excessive force when dealing with troublesome prisoners, crushing limbs or killing prisoners outright.
