Howdy Critical Crew!
Our Wild West-themed release comes out next Saturday February 3rd, and we've got another first-look for y'all. While creating this one, we thought to ourselves "How do you make the wild west more terrifying?" Answer: Giant. Rattlesnakes. 😳
Check out this excerpt of the Nowhere Rattler for WIPWednesday!
Most Nowhere rattlers dwell in massive crevasses of stone, canyons, or subterranean burrows. While these rattlers do not go out chasing after every caravan or traveler through the desert, they will often strike from hiding, or attack creatures that unsuspectingly walk over their burrows. These snakes usually attempt to paralyze their prey with a venomous bite, before striking repeatedly to finish off their quarry.
The massive shed skin of Nowhere rattlers is commonly used as a building material. This semi-transparent skin can be used to build tents for shelter from the elements, covers for market stalls, and even the occasional (albeit uncomfortable) bedroll. Its semi-transparent quality makes the skin a favored material for constructing tents amongst travelers throughout the region, as it allows those sheltering within to see if anything lurks outside.
The stuff of nightmares....
