We hope those of you celebrating Thanksgiving are having a nice short work week! Wanted to give you your mid-week check in and show off this WIP of another creature from next month's "Beasts of the Frozen Wasteland". Check out the Megalonyx
Also known as the “giant ground sloth” by some or “great clawed one” by others, megalonyxes are huge creatures that slowly lumber through lush forests and arctic lands alike. Despite being earthbound, megalonyxes have a diet consisting largely of plant matter from trees, their massive size and raking claws allowing them to forage high off the ground. The huge claws of a megalonyx are used both for stripping foliage and defense, and the creatures are incredibly versatile when using these massive weapons, flinging predators away with a single blow. They are also capable of standing on their hind legs and crashing forward, causing immense damage to smaller creatures in their path. The claws of these great beasts are sought after by many tribes living in The Frozen Wastes to create weapons, many goblinoids using exclusively megalonyx claw weapons. In many cultures, these claws are thought to grant the bearer the sure footing and immense strength of a megalonyx in battle.
