Hey Critical Crew!
We've got your next mid-week check in of what's to come next month is The Dark Below. Check out this excerpt from the statblock and lore of The Living Tunnel!
Living tunnels are creatures native to cave systems, caverns, and other subterranean regions. Most living tunnels remain stationary for years, disguised as natural formations and eating anything that misinterprets the living tunnel’s mouth as a “real” tunnel or cave entrance. Commonly, creatures will wander into such an entrance in hopes of finding shelter, only to be swallowed by the living tunnel. Many living tunnels will remain stationary for hundreds or thousands of years, devouring creatures that wander into their mouths.
...and how about monster ability?
Lead Belly. The living tunnel’s digestive system consists of incredibly thick and difficult-to-penetrate flesh. The living tunnel is immune to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing from nonmagical attacks from inside its body and is resistant to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from magical attacks from inside its body. At the Game Master’s discretion, the digestive system of the living tunnel is so large, it can serve as a dungeon all its own, with additional creatures or structures built inside (so long as these creatures and structures are immune to acid damage or have found a way to negate the negative effects of living inside the living tunnel).
How are you going to throw this at your table??
