Dreams of the Dreamer. Espiers are creatures formed from the dreams of the outsider known as “The Dreamer” on his maddening plane of Ashioggd’lin. While the dreamer sleeps, the outsider’s desires manifest themselves as these creatures. The most common espiers can be found in The Dark Below, most scholars believe that the darkened tunnels of this dark region allow for the manifestation of dream creatures more readily, though why espiers commonly pop into existence here is as yet, unknown...
Each espier has a different purpose in life, specified when it is dreamed up by The Dreamer. For some, their purpose may be to rule a kingdom, others to master a particular skill, and still others to acquire vast wealth. Usually, the purpose of an espier is grandiose, and many espiers are sociopaths, megalomaniacs, or workaholics, dedicating all of their existence to a particular ideal ingrained in them that they believe is their right to achieve, regardless of the cost. When an espier achieves the purpose it was dreamed into existence to accomplish, it simply ceases to exist. This results in most living espiers having rather complex or difficult-to-achieve goals...
Oh - and did I mention, that this bad boy is also the STL for November??
