Fomoraic (Far Thule) Mallax Battle Host

We're back on track this month, just about, for July's battle host is almost upon us... and July marks the dawn of a new era for our monthly releases, too - it's the first host with all-new miniatures, and it won't be the last, because our back catalogue is pretty much all out there digitally. Stay with us, Miercenaries, for it's going to be a fantastic ride!

July's battle host for the MIERCENARY and SELL-SWORD tiers is all about (the frankly incredible) sloth-men of the Fomoraic, the mallax!

Commanded by a new version of Aalvór and a totally new mallax wizard, Qilqaaq, the Grunting Mallax are armed with both horn-saw and horn-glaive as well as a rather stubborn attitude. Charging down the flanks on their sabretooth tigers, the never-before-seen Ravaging Mallax keep the enemy support honest and charging down the middle to hack and slash is the bloody brilliant Maalkar, a mighty sloth-monster over 120mm tall!

These guys truly are superb. Who knew sloth-men could look so cool?

The Fomoraic (Far Thule) Mallax Battle Host contains:

These guys are not yet ready to download but should be later on this week and early next. June's holiday is still having a bit of a knock-on effect with my time.

If you've been a member of the MIERCENARY or  SELL-SWORD tiers for the previous two months (i.e., you've been charged  three times consecutively, including the current month), you'll get an extra miniature with your battle host!

July's loyalty reward for patrons that have been with us in May, June and July is the superb Aastrid in all her forms!

You'll get:

If you are a new member, if you stay with us for the next two months you'll get the previous two loyalty rewards too, in that third month. That way, new Miercenaries are not penalised!

We've decided to pop the download links in a separate (patrons only) post to ensure they're not buried in a wall of text. You can find that post here:

This post is now live.

The links for last month's host, the Byzantii (Legio II Var) battle host, has been removed but is still available on our MyMiniFactory store. If you have become a patron during June, you will always be able to redeem the files for this host on MMF.

Supported and Unsupported Files

Our miniatures come in the form of test-printed, supported LYS project files as well as supported and unsupported STL files. Supported files are only offered at the 32mm scale used for our physical miniatures, and are optimised for resin printers, not FDM printers.

Supported by a Professional!

Note that our supports are NOT auto-supports built by a slicing program; they are manually applied to all of these files by our professional print prepper. We can never guarantee they'll work for everyone, of course, but we're confident they will!

The Fomoraic ascend to the lands from the black depths of the seas in scaled and slimed hordes of horrifying destruction, their declining, decaying world under the cold waves driving them upwards, ever upwards, to terrorise and subjugate those who thought the world was theirs alone. Conand and Baalor, Cichol and Tethra led them in the first, with others; they lead them still, for they are immortal, true Fomoraic, Fíorfomor as they are called by the Érainn, who lie with beasts and men alike the better to fill their ranks with willing kin-warriors who claim to have the seas in their veins and great slaughter in their minds. With such warriors and the intent that lies behind their war-hosts the truth of Danu's sons and daughter's assertions are evident to those that see clearly, and those realms that squabble for power and land and plunder with their neighbours would do well to understand the unbound threat the Fomoraic pose to the lands they bicker over, for the sea-devils will not stop until all above the water is theirs.

The lands of darkness

The ice wastes of the Eye do not only spread south and east: the distant lands of Far Thule have long been smothered by them, and even though the lands were choked with glaciers long before Baalor's rule the frozen seas are testament to his influence. Yet there is life, still, upon the frigid tundra and upon the numbing ice, men and beasts that were amongst the first to lend their strength to the Destroyer, for their world has almost always been tied to winter, and little else. A harsh world, then, that has bred harsh men: men of horn-spears and tusk-helms that journey far to bring implacable srónax and stubborn mallax and gigantic mammox to war for their ancient lord.

You can learn more about the Fomoraic on the Mierce Miniatures webstore and in the Lands of Darkness kindred guide!

If you thought this month was amazing, wait until you see what's in store for next month - for the hydrar of the Khthones hove into view, cackling and hissing madly...

Keep it Mierce, Miercenaries!
