Animation Styles Poll

Hello dear patrons, I'm wondering what animation styles you like most.

I'm personally a huge animation nerd and enjoy a wide range of animated art styles with each one having its own pro and cons.

Detailed drawings means a lot of time spent on each frame, while simple art often (but not always) means less time on each drawing. Then on one end you can have a nice detailed but very short animation while the simple style can have a  longer duration and/or smoother in terms of framerate.
I find both approach to be valid, but if someday I choose to animate short films I think I'd prefer to go with the simplest art style possible... unless I manage to have assistants, but I assume it will never happen.
On the framerate question I'm also an advocate of somewhat limited animation like we have in anime. Most of the time 12 fps is already pretty efficient at creating the illusion of movement and going lower is even possible depending of the context. Don't get me wrong, 24 fps animation is absolutely gorgeous and mesmerising when done right, but it's also 2 times more drawings compared to 12fps. Not manageable in a solo project with reasonable deadlines. By the way, most animations I made until then were animated at 12 at best.

This poll may not be decisive on my animation choices, but I'd like to know the opinion of my audience as a whole. Please be sincere in your vote.

So what kind of animation you'd like to have from me?

Comments

I'd love to make as much (short) animated films as possible but it's a lot of work for a single person. Thankfully it seems the majority of the votes are in leaning in favor of simple artstyle which would make it possible. Splitting the animation in separate parts to complete over a few months could be an option if most patrons agree.

I love all kinds of animation but I love the longer ones you've done that tell a fuller story or sequence of events like the witches trio or Tastumaki you've done
