I love watching Thomas Mitchell too, and many of the movies he was in. One great one I enjoy was The Keys of the Kingdom, which starred 28 year old Gregory Peck in his second movie role. Of course Thomas Mitchell was Uncle Billy in It’s a Wonderful Life.

Stagecoach also has Claire Trevor, John Carradine, Andy Devine, and the great Thomas Mitchell. The movie is from the great film year of 1939. 1939 also gave us Gunga Din, John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Wizard of Oz, Only Angels Have Wings, and Gone With The Wind. Mitchell himself was in Gone With The Wind, Stagecoach, Only Angels Have Wings, Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, and The Hunchback pf Notre Dame. Five choice roles in one year; unheard of these days.
