You asked when it aired. First season was in 2005. Adapted from the original UK Office. It didn’t do so great in the USA and was actually nearly close to being cancelled. But it turned into what (when it was on Netflix), I think the most watched show ever in Netflix history. Or at least top3. Also wanted to add a fun fact. A bunch of characters to meet (though not close to Game of Thrones!) but you’ll get to know them well. Ryan, Kelly, and Toby’s actors are also writers on the show.

2025-03-11 00:13:16 +0000 UTCGlad you enjoyed it!!! This is my favorite comedy show of all time, and I’d consider the pilot to be one of the weaker episodes. Season 2 there is a big vibe shift where they make Michael into a more likeable character. He is still dumb and acts like a 12 year old, but has a kinder heart. You will certainly notice the shift.

There are some serious cringe parts, but considering Ricky Gervais is the creator, it makes sense that they'd push the boundaries. I love Pam and Jim! And the Jim and Dwight storyline is so funny. One of the best shows in a very long time.
