I'm really excited to wrap up this mini Patreon series on making a track from scratch using the Echoes of Light Sample pack in Logic. ๐
I've deliberately left this one a bit loose to show the full process of arranging & lots of the trial and error that takes place.
Once you've got your 3 different 32 bar loop sections (Intro, A Part, B Part) most of the work from this point onwards is subtractive. Muting regions & testing out different placements is 90% of the work.
On top of this:
Transition Elements are great for adding a bit of camoflage by leading your ear in and out of new sections. (Crashes, Reverse Risers, Ear Candy FX)
Silence or Muting small sections is something that's easy to forget but a very effective way of adding emphasis or variation to a drop.
Delay Sends - dotted 1/8 delay is my favourite for this style and works amazingly on drums.
Filter Sweeps - another great way to add variation and motion to the arrrangement without too much effort. Automating the filter 'mix' is usually the best way to do this.
Pitching +12/-12 - Even though were now in the arrangement stage of the track, this is such an effective way to add sutble variations to existing elements!
Please let me know your thoughts on this & anything you'd like to see in future Patreon videos. ๐
Big ups everyone & have a great weekend. ๐
