Initial Cover Designs!! VOTE for your favorite. :)

EEEEEK, it’s* here!!

Well, *they’re here. The cover design process has begun and we have TWO potential options for THANKS FOR WATCHING. I would really love if y’all could give me your feedback and initial thoughts on both of these designs. I’ll have a poll down below for you to vote on which is your favorite. :)

A brief reminder: THANKS FOR WATCHING follows influencers invited on a lavish brand trip to a remote island who begin dying one by one. And here’s the longer summary over on Goodreads:

With that said, here’s the initial cover idea Zara at Inimitable Books and I came up with a few weeks ago:

We liked the idea of the phone (because influencers) and it being shattered with some blood. (We actually sent over a few different versions to the cover designer to show what we were thinking, some without the blood, some with the title inside the phone, etc.)

The cover designer gave their own twist on it and this is what they came up with:

With this concept, I think a combo of the two is where we would head. I love the idea of an extra photo in the camera roll (maybe with a dead body??). We asked the cover designer to change up the location of the blood splatter, the font, make the photo of the island extend on the screen like they do in more recent phones, etc. But you get the vibe, yeah??

Okay, so then the cover designer came up with this other option of their own accord:

We’d change the multi-color overlay, but I think the rest would stay pretty similar. I really love the play button in place of the "o" in "for" and how remote the villa/island looks.

What do you think?? Which pulls your attention more? If you were shopping in store, would you be drawn to either of these cover ideas? These are definitely preliminary, but this designer also just finished up Becca C. Smith’s cover for GRANDMA'S LITTLE SECRET and it looks like this:

Also I got a sneak peek at Chandra’s cover this morning and it looks AWESOME. So I feel very confident that either option will look really cool in the end. :)

But PLEASE let me know your thoughts. Which cover concept do you prefer? I want to make this the best it can be and it will be so helpful hearing what you all think! :)

(My book is due to my publisher for this next round on Friday, so after that I will have a whole week off to read and refill the well -- perfect timing with the Summer Scare Readathon -- and also finish the twist on the "24-hour writing challenge" I started AGES ago hahaha. I'm hoping to complete a few one-day writing experiments during that time as well!)
