Are watching this movie as an adult i’ve come to the realization that Ricky wasn’t smart due to him being coddled by his mother. He had nothing going for him but football & had no real plans for his family & himself. Doughboy had more sense than him. If he would have gone to the store when he was asked to instead of trying to pass the buck off to Doughboy the outcome may have been different.
