What is Hibiscus: Lore and Trivia

This post will be going into detail about what hibiscus is, as well as some lore I am willing to share at this moment.

First things first, Hibiscus is a fictional species I made called a Magekin. Magekins are very incredible magic users and have a powerful spiritual connection. Traditionally speaking, most magekin families tend to specialize in one type of magic and the skills and teaching are passed down the generations.

I mention this because Hibiscus’s family specializes in healing/herbal magic. Hibiscus on the other hand has had a interest in darker magic and spells that are for serious situations. These types of spells include, combat and defensive spells, hexes, anti curse spells and even small summon spells.

As expected, his parents specifically didn’t approve of Hibiscus goign further in this interest. In hibiscus’s mind, dark magic is still a form of magic teaching and like all other forms, needs to be respected and understood. Hibiscus had no intention to use and dark magic on others he was only curious about it all. His parents didn’t see that, as in traditional Magekin families, they often have biases and judge other families based on what magic they specialize in.

But hibiscus still learned about dark magic and as a adult specializes in breaking cruses and wounds caused by dark magic.

Random Trivia

• Hibiscus has a couple of siblings. He has a twin sister, 4 younger sisters and a baby brother. He and his sister actually share the name hibiscus. Hibiscus’s real name is Marvel Hibiscus and his sisters real name is Rosemallow Hibiscus.

• Hibiscus official height is 6’2”. He’s 6’5” if you include his ears.

• Hibiscus has invented a spell once, called “Manic Frenzy”. This spell allows hibiscus to summon sharp roots to spike up quickly from the ground. Either allowing him to slow his enemies down if they are chasing him, or if he’s chasing someone, to have them run in a specific direction to corner them.
• He’s a bottom but only for clay ;)
• He often tries to teach Clay and Nimbus simple spells since they didn’t grow up around using magic on a daily basis. This has lead to clay accidentally breaking a few things with spells.
• One of his younger sisters has started to also have a interest in dark magic, so hibiscus only show her a few pointers in secret so she doesn’t get hurt.
