Itβs so true. β’ I always thought of Rapunzelβs neuroses to be a symptom of PTSD, but I had never considered postpartum depression or psychosis. You are absolutely correct. β’ Stephen Sondheim (composer/lyricist) has said Jackβs Mother is a reflection of his own mother, who he knew regretted having children. β’ Hopefully you now understand why I was so excited for you to see the full stage version. It is so rich and complex. It has been a pleasure watching you enjoy it!
