ReVAmped Loona v4.1 for Source Filmmaker

This archive features a ReVAmped v4.1 model of Loona set up for Source Filmmaker, as well as her sourcefiles for edits and OC creation. IMPORTANT! ReVAmped Loona and v4.1 body update

So let me debrief you on what's been happening this whole time, starting with the content I have for you today.

First off, after an absurd amount of research, trial and error, with a tiny dash of actual work - an updated Loona is out! Not only it looks better, but it's also on a new body that I've updated to function a bit differently.

The v4.1 body has a different shape and anatomy (thoroughly overseen by my artist friend Adma that is now living with me btw) and yes, v4 clothes won't work with it for now - but look how well the new clothes work! They're now on by default, and not only they follow the bodyshape perfectly (that's a near fully automatic transfer via addon btw) - they're also compatible with the new trick I've added.

Remember HyperMode? That flex that hijacked other flexes to go beyond their limits or behave differently? That's history now - welcome Flex Unlocker. This SFM script allows your flexes to go beyond the maximum value of 1 - or even go negative. Turns out it's not only useful to make meme gmod-era faces, but enhance body shapes, letting them go both directions. You can try and see for yourself. Nearly all flexes with -ness in their names will be able to work with Flex Unlocker, as well as a few others too. The clothes that go as bodygroups will also follow the unlocked flexes to an impressive degree.

The facial functions will also be slightly different - that's because now I'm making my facials with FaceIt addon. No HWM for now, but I'll be working to adapt my expressions table to it - and maybe even add new shapes. You can notice how well it works in Blender version, letting you build expressions entirely with bones (thus the mess in SFM). In the coming months I'll try to integrate it better with the rig, and update my older characters to it.

This update is important, because it lets me make Blender versions of characters at the same time as I do SFM ports, and make it easier for people (myself included) to port clothing items to the ReVAmped body. I'll be testing a few other things - such as optional flexes that you can choose to get compiled with your character model. You will be able to decide which flexes your ReVAmped character model will have. I already tested it and it's possible - but will take some time to develop. This essentially removes the last obstacle for SFM models - which is flex limit. 

Now Loona goes live on Patreon, and v4.1 body will be available for public testing in ReVAmped server and a few other affiliated servers. This would not be possible without you guys. Only thanks to your support I am able to stay alive and well in foreign lands and continue my work, striving for a better future. This year has been an absolute ass - I've lost my home, friends, family, belongings and life prospects, but not my drive to make better things.

ReVAmped v4.1 - Unified Blender and SFM Framework

Ok, long story short I did this instead of clothing because I came to realize that a body made 2 years ago was starting to feel a bit rusty on my end. With my plans to adapt it to Blender and VRChat, keeping it focused on just SFM standards was a big handicap - it has me re-adapt anything I make every time I prepare a Blender version. Not to mention SFM is way past its prime. Despite it being old, it's still a cool body, so I decided to update it once and for good with my current skills before moving to sculpt and set up the next one. So here we are.  The improvements of the updated v4 body include better hands and legs, improved rigging of them, and switchable nails on both hands and feet. For now I added a claw option that will come in handy with a few characters.

The most important change in SFM you'll see is that butt bone is now automated to fit the sharp angles, so you don't have to rotate and move it every time you pose it that way.

There's 10 corrective bones now, 2 for each limb and 1 for each buttcheek. They will adapt to angles, making sure nothing breaks at extreme angles. All the major bones are renamed automatically to valve_biped standard in a non destructive way, allowing for better SFM rig functionality.

As for Blender rig - it has been thoroughly cleaned up and now everything looks and works as it was intended. Moreover, anything from the Blender file can be exported and compiled to SFM as is - without the need of rescaling or adapting. In other words - SFM animations can work in Blender, and vice versa.

However, the whole skeleton has been changed - old animations and rigs will not work. And there's still much I could edit about it freely - but I need your assistance and feedback. I'll likely be changing some flexes and their capabilities next.  If all is good, the v4 Loona will debut on this body version, and then all the chars I made, including horses, will follow.

Following the Smutbase purge

So you probably wonder what happens next to my Patreon page since one of the items purged was in fact the NSFW feral ponies release.

And the answer is - nothing. But I've just yeeted all the pony content traces from here.

Thing is, they have been publicly available for some time now, and the remaining links were kind of confusing. I have removed all of that and some obsolete old stuff, leaving only actual content.

I will also be redesigning the profile with new avatar, description, goals and better depiction of the content diversity available here. As well as branch out more to Gumroad and SubscribeStar.

Don't get me wrong, I know why Patreon goes after content hosted at SFMLab and I know why SFMLab complies. I totally respect their decision, which is why I also removed the content in question from here and there. And I kind of want to stay on Patreon where it's more familiar for most people. However, I don't want to end up on the chopping block because my chicks too hot, so I will be diversifying risks. It will be cool for people that prefer those platforms and provide us with safe ground just in case. But really, don't unpledge. We are fine. For now.

On my future plans for June - Helltaker gals (Justice first), Loona overhaul and lots of bugfixing. Perhaps even VRChat development once/if I get my GPU dock doodad.

Millie NSFW Version for Blender

NSFW version. I improved a few things regarding her texture, rigging, topology and user interface. New bones have been added , there's now skin detail, and a new set of body flexes was made, with most boob controls inherited from ReVAmped line cause it's cool enough, but also a different shapekey setup for almost every other body area. Try it out and tell me what you think, I'll still be polishing it.

SFM port is next. Should be done within one or two days, I hope.

Millie SFW Version for Blender

So, here's Millie's final-ish Blender version. And I want to clarify some things.

First of all, she's not ReVAmped. Everything in her controls in different from what I used to make, especially hands, face and eyebrows. I'm trying to reimagine my approach, so some things may be better, some worse. Either way, I need your feedback.

Second, she's safe for work but nothing stops you from slapping certain ASSets to do your dirty deeds :) But she is available to the $5 tier supporters as a SFW model.
I will be making the NSFW body next, and I'll try to approach it the same way I did this one - reimagine everything from ground up. Stay tuned.

A recap of things

Hey everyone. I made it. You probably know.

It's my second week in Kazakhstan and so far it's been hell of an experience. You know, I've been planning to escape abroad for a pretty long time now. After covid, I've been building my kit to be mobile, to be able to work on the run. Little did I know that I'll be forced to chase my nomad goal in less than a month, following the atrocities of my former nation you very well know about.

I'll be honest with you. The last few years were a disaster. I knew deep down inside  something was gonna happen, no idea what. I knew this would affect me, and I had to do my best to avoid it. Needless to say I felt I was unable to do my best, and this haunted me, resulting in the biggest drop of productivity I ever had. I've always believed that life is a matter of deserving, and if I can't get myself to make more and better things, to make my plans actually come to life - then I'm just not meant to achieve my goals. When the war broke out, and I almost lost my way out, I thought - this is it, this happened because I don't matter, and this is what I deserve. Until one person showed me that this fucking isn't.

Sprocket, I know you'll read this - just know you rekindled me. Many people will hate you for that. I won't.

So, two weeks in Kazakhstan, how do they feel? What's been going? I should say, it exceeded my expectations. It's nothing like the Borat movie. People are friendly, helpful and way less irritable, and welcome you to their society. The apartment I rented for the same price as my attic feels like a hotel room. The food is tastier, cheaper and feels much more of quality. There's lots of imported products in stores I've never seen at home. I've even been offered job positions in IT hub in city center. Thrice. I honestly feel... unchained.

In less than a week I was able to open a bank account and secure the funds I had on me. I even opened a USD deposit and made a dedicated Payoneer account that I connected to my bank, and to Patreon.
That means that I can withdraw Patreon funds. You don't have to unpledge. But I'd rather you use that money to donate to Ukrainian counter offensive instead. Or to any Ukrainian artist you know.

The next month would be about restoring my workflow, reorganizing all the releases I ever made, finalizing Millie, upgrading Loona and sculpting more clothing. There's something else in the works, but I cannot tell yet. All I can say it will be VRChat and Helluva Boss related, and it's not a character.

And if you want me to post some things about living in KZ, let me know. Now that my life isn't as mundane as it used to be, I'll be glad to share about it.

IMPORTANT - Massive Character Update

Remember I managed to get a ReVAmped character with clothes on and not screw up the flexes? Well here I put it to use.

Me and devs tested this method and so far it works for most characters, and doesn't seem to be too heavy. However, emphasis on most - I wasn't able to update Callie Briggs model without it producing cursed results. I'll have to sit on it for some time, meanwhile you can have the other v4 body chars to your leisure.

Characters that got the update are:

Goat Luci
Gadget Hackwrench
Judgement
Stella

All the Patreon exclusive Google Drive links in those posts will update with the new experimental version.  Whenever you spawn a character, it will have clothes on. You can hide/change the clothing just like any bodygroup if you want. Any flexes (except stereo ones, blame Valve) will work on relevant clothing parts as well. Keep in mind there might still be clipping, since this model line wasn't developed with this feature in mind, as I thought it was impossible - you might have to spawn a standalone clothing piece and tweak it sometimes, but for the most part this update saves tons of time for any user.

Go ahead and test those models out, and tell me how this new thing feels.

Because it changes everything.

ReVAmped October Clothing pack + Stella dress

First content for this tier in a long while. Damn I feel like a dick.

Either way, here's a few simple pieces of swimsuits and bikinis to start off with. Part of them I made during streams, part just ported from older bodies. I could make more, but most of this month was spent on VRChat learning and helping other devs set up the horse pack.

These clothes fit the ReVAmped body v4, have the same flexes and, thanks to the recent discovery, can be compiled onto any ReVAmped v4 character and work with its flexes.

Speaking of, I'm still working to make all the v4 chars spawn with their signature clothing on. Once I'm done setting them up, I'll update them here all at once and also release them on Gumroad.

Breakthrough that changes everything

It took me 7 years to learn the workaround of a limit that's been constricting me for all this time.

All the people that chose to abandon me for my "inability to deliver" - I feel sorry for you.

Watch this:

Many of you know Judgement model as the most heavy duty one in terms of clothing. Previously you had to spawn and lock all the clothing pieces to the main model, and if you were to use any bodyshape flex, you had to copy its values to clothing one by one. Now you can spawn the model with all clothing options already on it, and switch them on and off which will save you tons of time.

Now this is really big and opens up a lot of possibilities. However, my current body (and all previous ones) were built with this limit in mind. Now that it's no more, I want to work on something else that isn't as fundamental as the main body base. And for that I've chosen...


Shortstack body base

I know there is a mighty need for one, and there are a few characters I wanted to do that would not quite fit the current body. Whilst making this one I'll try to stray from the current flex setup to try new things that I've learned over the year, so it would operate different. I'm also going to run a poll for the first character I will do on this base, and every patron will be able to vote. Speaking of which...

Reward tier changes


I'm reworking the current two tiers to better represent what they offer. The previous SFW Mate tier was pretty underwhelming with rewards, especially since I don't make too many SFW things nowadays. It's being changed into ReVAmped Clothing Emporium and will offer exactly what it says - clothing, the making of which I sometimes stream at the Discord server or at Picarto. Keep in mind that it won't stay Patreon exclusive forever, and eventually will be released in clothing packs with other stuff developers make, or on its own.

E.g. the theme of this release are various bikini and swimsuits models from all the previous model lines, converted to the current one and ready to use. I will post them later this week.

Oh, and by the way, signature clothing for the currently exclusive models will also be included in the clothing tier - rejoice if you really wanted that Stella dress. I will also be changing my character pipeline so that you get clothing for existing base faster.

NSFW Mate tier has been renamed into ReVAmped Modelworks. Nothing much changed, but now it correctly states that Blender releases are also included.

As for VRChat releases...

Switching to Gumroad

I decided to move all my content to the new platform. There are several why's:

- It's easier to access for people than Patreon, especially if your card is not accepted here for stupid reasons
- It gives clearer "value for product" meaning
- It allows me to be more flexible with prices, allowing me to offer certain models individually at a discount.
- It lets you, my influential(ish) friend, spread the word on how good my models are, for a portion of their worth, via affiliate program
- There's an option for custom profile CSS that I will definitely make use of.

If you're currently supporting me here, there's no need to rush and switch to Gumroad. All the content I'll upload there is already here. However, since I started some VR development earlier this month (and already made some progress with it), I will be distributing my VRChat content at Gumroad exclusively. Why not here? Well, it's a completely different pipeline that I can't really fit in here, and there's not much actual content for it yet. This is another reason why I want to make a custom base character this time - to test how well and efficient I can optimize my models for three separate branches when I'm not constrained by the current standard.

If all goes well enough, I may switch to Gumroad entirely one day, but that day is at the very best one year away.

I'll start preparing updated character models with this new bodygroup feature, as well as the first part of the clothing pack and updating the goals and description of this profile. As for Gumroad page launch, I'll be announcing it on Twitter soon. Thank you all for sticking around.

ReVAmped Judgement Blender Version

My second attempt at an IK setup, slightly better.

This time I've added IK handles for guiding knees and elbows, much like those in SFM.

I've also added custom bone shapes for the face, and improved the eyeposing.

Again, and I cannot stress this enough, I really need feedback for my Blender Rigify setups so I can make them better and easier to use for you.

Next thing I'm going to try after this is porting her to VRChat.

September - Immediate Plans

Been a while since I wrote a wall of text, but as the eternal classic says - aww shit, here we go again.

First of all, I'm really grateful for the support y'all are giving me. I know I don't look like a grateful person most of the time, that's because I believe my best show of gratitude is to create as best content for Source Filmmaker as posible. But you might have noticed that with each subsequent release it's taking more and more time. I feel like I should be sorry but... I'm not.

There's been a lot going on in the background that I didn't really mean to post about. First of all, I've been undergoing therapy, with a goal to improve my self view and accept my achievents so far and move forward with renewed resolve. Having failed to get a US visa in early 2020 and the subsequent lockdown gave my self-esteem a bloody nose, and it's only starting to heal up. I feel like what I do has a meaning again, and I am finally able to address the mess that's been piling up with my model line. But it all starts with a change of pace.

You see, the main issue with content creation I've been having so far is the perpetuality, the constant feeling of deja vu with me basically making the same content every time. Yes, I try new things, I learn tricks and improve my workflow, but overall nothing changes much. I want to switch to something else temporarily, but I've been afraid that if I stop making content you expect me to do, this will all go downhill very fast.

This month I take it upon myself to shake things up a bit. First of all, I want to post pieces of content more frequently, but making charater heads of my level takes weeks (even with the recent plugins I've been acquiring). Meanwhile, there's a mighty need for clothing for my base. I believe I should address this issue before making more unique ReVAmped chars, to give you the opportunity to try the existing ones in different settings, with different attire. So, this month, I am not making any new characters. However, I will start streaming the creation of clothing on Picarto, and even record a tutorial of the whole process, from basic modeling and sculpting, to texturing, weightpaint, shapekeys and porting. I'll post the results here, and will later on release them periodically as clothing model packs.

In addition to that, it's time for me to come back to VRChat to try my hand at making my existing models into avatars. It is a market I've long been eager to get my hands on but I couldn't spare time or mental resources. It's been 4 years since I made any successfull attempts, and a lot has changed. It will also be a nice chance to socialize. I'll begin porting my existing characters, starting with Judgement, effective next week. Won't stream it, but I'll be in voice in ReVAmped server, so hit me up if you want to go to some world together. If all goes well, I might even create a viable model base of my own.

Ah yes, the pony line. I know I've stepped down, but other devs at the ReVAmped server have been working on the port of the heads to the new body. Now that I've finished Stella, it's time for me to do a revision of both SFM models and sourcefiles, and create an upload. This version will be posted on SFMLab. I will also pack up the rest of pony content I have left, including NSFW feral bases and cowponies, and release them at DeviantArt, where all my pony content was.

Gadget Blender Version (With IK Setup)


My first attempt at an advanced IK workflow for ReVAmped characters.

I must say that learning the process of doing it was groundbreaking. There are so many things it can do from the get go that are impossible in SFM, and I'm sure with time I'll learn even more.

For now the model has an IK setup working on top of regular armature, all the shapekeys are split in left and right, and eyeposing controls allow you to move and scale eyes as you wish.

However before I move this setup to the rest of the models I'd love your feedback on what can be improved.

I'll also be away for a few days, and during that time I'll move all the Blender content from the past to the NSFW tier.
