Hey all! Apologies for the delayed update, there will be a delivery this month! But everything I mentioned in the last update will be skipped for next delivery, because I ended up switching tracks the past month or so. If what I plan to deliver isn’t of interest to you, and this isn’t your first month supporting this page, then let me know and I’ll refund you. I’ll likely be delivering the content this coming weekend, so just send me a message before then.
I have gone back to the original DGA animation and remastered it, as you have no doubt seen from the cover picture here. It was a ton of work but I was inspired >.> Despite me making next to no new content, it is significantly longer than the original, and will have new audio made for it over the coming month(s). I set myself clear goals and boundaries when doing this:
No new content from scratch; everything has to have an existing base.
Each shot would be widescreen. The camera and animations would need to be modified and edited to properly frame the existing action.
Renamon would be animated in each shot. However her role would remain the point of reference, so the animation needed to remain simple.
I would include the animations for the ‘lost shots’ in the first animation. (there was a 5+ second patch of animation I never completed for the first animation, in between the cuts that currently happen at the 21 second mark. If you ever felt there was a step up in size there; there was.)
Have the animation play at the proper frame rate, and include the bookend frames. (most of the shots in the original animation were playing at 30fps instead of 24, because I didn’t know what I was doing until AFTER audio was made for it. The bookend frames were the first and last frames I had to cut in every single shot as the camera positions were making motion blur smear them, so every shot is a fraction of a second shorter than I intended)
Switch the Andre rig to the new one, mainly to lay the groundwork for a VR experience at a future date.
Remove the ‘cheats’ in between cuts. (i.e, DONT shrink Andre in between shots, keep Andre in more or less the same position, and keep the environment pieces such as the trees in the same spot from start to end.) Mainly to lay the groundwork for a VR experience at a future date.
MINOR improvements, or ‘coat of paint’ to the animations themselves (i.e, get those balls swinging), and replacing the shots that were already remade/improved in the early iteration of the remake.
Stitch them all together in the one scene that can play from beginning to end. Mainly to lay the groundwork for a VR experience at a future date.
The end result? Between adding the missing shots, playing the animation at the right speed and adding back the bookend frames, as well as retiming some of the later shots to make Andre feel heavier, (and stitching in two extra shots because I can’t help myself), the first animation has increased its length from 42 seconds, to 94 seconds. Andre is also MUCH bigger. And… how do I put this, a wee bit friskier.
I am pretty happy with where it ended up… it's certainly familiar, but there is enough there that it’s a surprisingly new experience. Hopefully you guys agree when you see it!
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this!
As I am sure a lot of you noticed, I did not activate the february cycle at the beginning of the month. This is because I was unable to get enough content together in time. The plan is currently to have the March cycle active at the end of the month, though I might need a week or two after to fully finalize what I want to do.
I am currently working on shot 174, as seen above. It’s a long shot (~15 seconds) and has required some corrective blends, so I am only about two thirds done with it. I also plan on doing shot 119.5 after that, so there will likely be around 20 seconds of polish animation to be added.
In the meantime! I recently asked a fellow by the name Luhu Hoots (https://linktr.ee/luhohoots) to make some audio of a short clip of the shots I recently edited or cut. I plan on posting this to social media in the coming days, but would love to hear what you guys think so feedback and opinions are most welcome :). You can check it out here:
Hey all! Hope your new year was awesome, and you got some time to relax!!
As I mentioned earlier, there will be a rewards cycle for December. I will admit that one of the shots I have been working on has been kicking my arse a bit, so I am running a little late on the rewards. However, I am just finishing up the last few seconds and am hoping I will be able to send everything out in about a week's time. My apologies for the delay.
The progress this month will be about 16 seconds of polished animations on two missing shots; 118 and 119. So this month’s focus has been the intro.
Looking ahead, there will be no rewards cycle for January (so I will disable payments for the coming cycle) and am aiming for February to be the next cycle.
My sincere apologies for the lack of communication over the past few months. I won’t get into details, but my IRL really ramped up this year for a number of reasons. I didn’t intend to take a few months hiatus, it just kind of evolved into one. I have been logging onto patreon to pause payments regularly and making a mental note to write an update that I just didn’t manage to write. Which was unprofessional and out of character for me, so again, I do apologize. Thanks for all who stuck around <3
I am still here! I just havent had the time or energy to maintain this (for now at lease) side hussle the past few months. I won’t pretend the break hasn’t helped me though! I played BG3 a bit a few months back, which was the first game I had gotten to play in years ^^.
Progress stalled but never fully stopped. I have brought shot 128 up to gold (with some heavy edits) and am about 80% done with shot 162. After that I will need to do some cleanup/edits for shot 163 and some minor edits (professional animator talk for “make the dick bigger”) for shots164 and165. This is to remove the seams from the insert that was voted in last update. After that I will try to do one more continuity improvement, probably bringing shot 171 up to gold. That would take the update to 15-18 seconds of polished animation, so enough for a cycle.
This cycle won’t be this month, it will be for the end of November. So I will pause October. After that, there will be about a 50/50 chance I will be able to do a December cycle, depending on how much of the Christmas vacation I’ll have free to animate; after that I anticipate returning to 2 month cycles.
Looking forward, I will probably do another ~3 DGA focused cycles before moving on to MLK, with the intention of cutting what I have planned for that down and finishing it off.
For DGA, I will likely focus one cycle on continuity improvements like this cycle (maybe focused on shots 129-133 to remove that old renamon island, and shot 174 to make a nice uninterrupted 19 polished shot block in the backend) before focusing on developing the missing shots at the start of the animation for a cycle or two. This should leave around 110 complexity points for the animation to come back to after MLK.
Anyway, thanks again for those who stuck around! I promise, the only way these projects will ever be abandoned is if I die :)
Rewards went out, on last day of the month. I have paused billing for next month, so you won't be charged tomorrow as there won't be a cycle.
I am aiming to fall back into a 2 month reward cycle, where I will be releasing content every other month, and pausing the billing on the off months. This is due to me needing two months to make what I consider to be a worthwhile update due to my other IRL commitments demanding a lot of my time. As such, I am aiming for June to be the next delivery, and will keep you all posted if that changes.
I hope you enjoy the content! Let me know if there are any issues or feedback!
I recently had someone make a suggestion to add a sequence to DGA. I wanted to do a poll on here to see if you guys would agree with a set of proposed edits or not, as I am going to start looking for consent before messing with scope on DGA.
The proposed edits and shots would be: 156 - (minor edit) move Renee/Andre over so she is hit more by his chest than shoulder at the end of the shot
157 - Renee falls under his chest rather than into her arm - Andre takes an extra step ending above Renee before his chest swells above - The shot cuts short as the growth happens
157.1 - Close up side shot, showing Renee reaction as the chest swells above her snout - Andre rises again and she starts to pull back and pick herself up
157.2 (cover shot) - Medium side shot as Renee sits up under him. - Andre’s torso is in the frame above her, growth ripples down it - Renees looks up and over, sees his peen in front of her face - It starts to grow
157.3 - Close up from the side/behind of junk growing in her face - Reaction, she gets up to leave
158 - Cut in a second or so later after current spurt - Andre looks over as he does now, except he is looking at her - Renee gets herself up. - Cut from this shot before Andre steps backwards
158.1 - a medium shot of them looking at each other, Andre is rather smug - Andres face grows as they share a moment - Andres face goes a bit weird - Andre starts to reposition himself as in the end of current 158.
159 - Edit the start and timing to have Renee return to his front
092 - Remove the last third of the shot as the camera zooms out - The peen has already grown in the rest of it.
** This is the conceptualized changes, final shots my differ once I get in there and do it.
Why make these edits?
Its a fun and erotic addition.
It adds more interaction between Andre and Renee, especially in the peen area
It shows progression in the size of the peen by using Renee as a reference, especially when contrasted to shot 136
Knocking Renee over shows an oscillation of Andre’s presence. and foreshadows a bigger invasion of her space in shot 094
It will allow me to somewhat shift Andre’s attitude towards the sexual tension from Renee from totally oblivious to somewhat in on it, which is what I have wanted to do for a while now (I would be editing his expression in 059 too)
I have long felt that the camera language in the part of 092 I would need to cut has not fitted in with the rest of the sequence, so it improves flow and consistency in this area.
Why not make these edits? It is scope creep. Granted, it's in the most fun part of the sequence, but so far as inserts go, 4 new shots and edits to several existing ones is not a minor change to make. I would estimate that this would take an additional two rewards cycles to complete, above just polishing 157 and 158 as they are now. The shot changes may not be needed to significantly improve the overall experience of the animation.
So what do you guys think? I will progress as the majority wills.
It has been a quiet start to the year from me; I have canceled the past two months payments as I have not been able to make the time to make significant enough advancement on these projects. I’ve had a bit of an unholy trifecta where work is going through a high pressure period, my kids are taking turns staying up all evening, and our babysitter has had to quit due to an illness. So it is rare when I do have some time for myself to work on this project, and when I do get some, I am just too exhausted to make decent progress.
None of these hindrances are permanent though. I do expect things to return to normal and I can resume releasing content at a regular cadence, hopefully starting later this month. I will keep you posted either way.
In the meantime, I have been working on the animation; even in such periods where I am not releasing content, I am always working on it. I am about halfway through polishing shot 166 at the moment; though I am obviously not going to try and collect a rewards cycle for that :).
