Survey takeaways!

More than 400 people took some time to fill out the survey and share their ideas! My thanks to everyone who did! 

A few takeaways: 

• I've heard everyone's concerns about the difficulty of the mini-game. You can expect nerfs to the difficulty and slight buffs to the monetary rewards in the next update.

(For those of you who worry about the mini-game growing repetitive, you shouldn't! It was designed from the start to be temporary. As soon as you gather the story rewards that are available through it, you can either stop engaging with it, or keep farming it until you gather enough money to unlock an option that'll allow you to skip it and get paid a flat amount)

• I've read through everyone's written ideas and actively consider some of them!

Some of you had A LOT to say! I appreciate everyone who put in effort to write down their ideas.
Do keep in mind that for the sake of keeping future updates manageable in scope, I can't keep adding characters, systems, VAs and some of your other suggestions, as doing so would make updates slow to a crawl.

• Your feedback when it comes to the Imagery, Sound and Writing of HoS has been tremendously positive. That's a sign for me to keep following the same pattern in the future!

A note on the upcoming update!

HoS's initial release(v0.12) is coming out in 36 hours from when this post was made.
To be prepared, please read the following:

(If you can't connect to discord for whatever reason, you can message me to find an alternative solution)

A few important notes before the release:

1. HoS v0.12 will of course, NOT be a complete game! In fact, this is just the beginning of what will very likely end up being a year+ long development cycle.

2. The v0.12 update will introduce a lot of ideas that are still in development. Things are very likely to change in the future depending on the community's reception and my own ideas.

3. Right after the public release I'll be posting polls/questionnaires here on Patreon, as well as on Discord. Those will be important in gauging the community's interest and will play a decisive role in HoS's future!

I hope you all find the new update to your liking!

Action scenes (Yay or Nay!)

 
I have just wrapped up the production of an action scene involving the above character that'll serve as an important plot device in the upcoming update of HoS.

(I am of the opinion that a good premise/story/setting can enhance the emotions evoked from more explicit scenes.)

I am curious how many of you are interested in that aspect of HoS, or if you are just here for the ladies:

A heartfelt thanks to all of you who chose to trust me this early in House of Shinobi's journey. Hinata's face above mirrors mine after seeing everyone's positive reception of HoS!

Given the importance of the upcoming "initial-release" of HoS on the 21st, I'm on a daily mission to ensure that everything rolls out smoothly, with HoS looking as good as possible within the given timeframe.

With that in mind, the "full-release" (in hindsight the naming was probably a mistake) is just the beginning—there's so much more I want to do with HoS, which we'll discuss a few days after the next release when I'll be posting a roadmap!

Until then, I'll be buried in my figurative coal mines, working on delivering a compelling product. Once again, thank you all for your trust and support!

The initial release of HoS is set to include:
  -Multiple hours of content for you to explore
  -An introductory storyline + surrounding events amounting to 60k+ words.
  -A metric fuckton of CG + Sprites + Animation-lites
  -More than 400 choices (2/3rds with some sort of impact, 1/3rd with conversational impact)
  -Events with multiple endings
  -And much more you'll come to experience when you play the game!

HoS is and will be, in active development for the foreseeable future! In that regard the initial release will of course, NOT be a complete game. 

The goal of the initial release is to introduce the players to the setting, story and main characters of the game, along with all gameplay-related systems that'll serve as the foundation of future content. Some of these systems might be incomplete or under-utilized in the initial release but opting to include them will make the process of adding content and iterating upon them faster in the future.

With that, I hope to see you all playing House of Shinobi soon!

First of all, thank you for believing enough in the little I've shown up to now to support my efforts! Your contributions are what inspire me to keep working hard, just like Hinata above!

That being said, you've joined so early, that a lot of my pages are still WIP(work in development) including my Patreon page and other socials.
