This is done after work hours! More of an experimental sketch.

Recently I listened to a particular song and I end up non-stop listening to it that possibly the only way for me to stop listening to it is to actually make a cover of this song, if not fade over time.

To be honest I want to cover hopeful-sounding songs like these.

Also I think this is the first time I'm using a technique called "chromatic aberration" in this piece!

💠 Savember 2021 First Set (Outfitless)

⭐ This stuff is Patrons-only!

This is the first set of Sav, without any clothing! If you want the versions with clothing, you can check over here.

I wanted to have these mainly as a body reference should I draw them with outfits that are different from their Sav outfit and as a faithful guide to their body type, something I did not manage back in 2018.

I'll also place here some Patreon-exclusive info, such as these comparisons to their 2018 counterparts.

Isaru Colla

Isaru changed massively, changing from a plantigrade to a shorter digitigrade. I also filled the torso with the darker blue. Their eye type is now also solid compared to a normal eye type. The ears are now also nearly pure white to match with their paws, fitting more to the panda's style. Other than that, their outfit is matched to be more nearer to be more oriental, fitting to their bamboo-themed hometown.

The gems in their orbs are made more clear, acting as a stability medium.

Fabien Tcol

Fabien's changes lean towards more vibrancy with his fainter colors, giving them a more favorable colour scheme, allowing them to be more visible in the air amidst the skies where they are usually stationed, maintain their flowy demeanor, and harken back to their hometown full of windmills that direct air traffic as their main transport since their village is a series of small islands.

Unintentionally, Fabien does look more carefree in their current iteration.

Aiden Farely

Aiden's changes are more aimed to a but more simplicity in the design than having larger features on their person, diverting the wild mess of the distribution of colors to minor accents. They are also aged down to be more consistent with the other sav. Their design otherwise is mostly maintained, seen as a high-standing figure in their town, as they were supposed to be inheriting the town they have their home in.

Canta Syirra

Canta's design mostly stays the same, transferring over what I learned through the years into the new version of Canta. Instead of pure black, I opt in for a very dark blue on their dress. Their hair is adjusted down and a ring is added on the dress. The nose is also changed to fit better a pig.

The only major change here is actually their puppet, which is changed to a rabbit, further signaling them to be swift.

Heilao

Heilao's design is maintained entirely. This time, I was able to execute details that were intended for them in the first place. Sadly, there's nothing else to expand on that.

Inoa Palta

Inoa has once again been majorly updated. They actually have undergone several major changes... This time around their enticing attractive slim outfit has been exchanged for a more cuteness gathering slim outfit, with the leggings being one of the more obvious changes. This still allows them to take advantage of their looks in battle as a distraction, allowing her to place traps. This also applies to their eyes.

Since they're a trap setter, a few more pockets easily available for them are added and their sleeves have been changed to ropes, allowing them to take advantage of that as well and harken back to their roots where she mostly uses bandages before they became one of the sav.

Fibvel Criv

What you see on the left is when Fivbel was sketched in 2018, that's before I cleaned out and would be part of the others. However, Fivbel never made it to Savember, here they are fully colored.

Their design is supposed to be just a simple kitted out villageman. Sadly a bit of wine red, dark body and light clothing is too much contrast visually so I had to match that wine red on their top as well. Added a bit of detail to fit the Sav more compared to the original sketch and the result was Fivbel.

💠 Savember 2021 First Set

Intended Run: December 1-7

These are the Sav. Basically, they are pretty much the "saviors" of Furria should an event of another Saviand Anomaly happen. They're all young and trained at a young age and they're all very competent at their craft. All of their weapons are intentionally made unique, playing on their strengths.

I've actually done these back in 2018, this time doing an all-new pass, along with new names for the aspects and redesigns. I wanted to do these for a while, not just to give their designs better justice to their origins and apply what I've learned over the years, but to also want to have real fun drawing again. 

Yes, I'll get around to your Patreon stuff! I just need to enjoy drawing again... I feel I just lost that charm that I had at the start of the year when doing these.

The order of Sav that appears in this collection is actually randomized completely! I don't want to do bias so I can give them all fair attention.

• #01 - Climae (Climate) - Isaru Colla

Named after the Presav Issa Colla, this cautious panda takes advantage of the climate around them and even controls it with their two rods. These have floating orbs that can act as a whip or a wand.

Them being aligned with Climae means that they could take advantage of the temperature and moisture in the area. They could make it rain, they could make it cold, they could make it hot, and they could take advantage of the fog.

When you need recon, Isaru is perfect to bring to get a feel of the environment, especially when things are dire.

Isaru is actually created as the 27th Sav, but is actually one of the first characters I ever made. Like, a childhood character.

• #02 - Aer (Wind) - Fabien Tcol

Have you seen that Flutterby Fairy vine? I was reminded of that and I remember having a toy that Fabien has right now. As a result of that, I made it their weapon. Fabien is an easy-going elegant pond-skater who twirls around with a spinner.

They have great control of the air with and without them, so you won't see them going into fireplaces soon!

Fabien is the 17th Sav created.

• #03 - Flaim (Flame) - Aiden Farely

Have you ever heard of an Oryx? Aiden is actually the first non-standard species Sav, created as the 6th of the lot. With elegance, they attack with pulsar shots coming from attached sentries on their hands and legs, assisted with 4 more hovering around, Moon River.

Basically Bayonetta, without the sass. They still move elegantly though. If you need massive firepower, Aiden's the person you need.

Aiden is actually a movement against the idea of hot-headed or strong fire-based characters that I'm seeing a lot. They're a person who maintains their anger tempered into concentration.

• #04 - Nox (Darkness) - Canta Syirra

Canta at first is designed to go against the norm of the goth design... by placing a happy-go-lucky character who likes goth things... She lives in the dark though... because their hometown is underground. The whole continent is underground.

This piggy creates temporary orbs primed with sorcia to throw and splash around. Not only that, she can place them in her bag to transfer them to their puppet, allowing for sneak attacks!

Canta is the 23rd Sav to be created.

• #05 - Mixi (Mixture / Replication) - Heilao

Heilao here is the second community-made Sav made by someone named Mews. This always overworking Axolotl's scroll has replicable tiles used for laying out a map or curled for defense. The map can be drawn on to summon out more tiles, as long as it has a passage.

They're one of the few navigator-type Sav, but their role as a navigator is pretty powerful because, with those tiles, they could also work as a defense against barrages as well and keep paths open for others to escape.

Heilao is set out to be the 22nd Sav to be created, with Canta being created about a week after that.

• #06 - Trapo (Entanglement / Constraint) - Inoa Palta

Inoa, also named after a Presav like Isaru, but this time it's Ino Palta.

This rabbit can mark sorcial traps on the ground and hit hard using their piston-enhanced blast hammer. They can also separate that other end into a throwable one! So uh... they're actually really hard to escape from.

Inoa is sincerely the first original character I made intended for the whole series when back then it was named "Elemental X". They alone have gone under 16 iterations at this point, including this one while the rest is mostly just 2 or 3. Despite this, they're actually the 12th to be created as a Sav.

• #07 - Fragil (Fragility / Weakness) - Fivbel Criv

Fivbel is actually new in this collection! Well, not too new. They're still made during 2018, but never have any polished art. Fivbel is counted as the 34th Sav to be created.

This deer-mouse (chevrotain) uses a very interesting grappling hook. An injecting shock-mount grappling hook. Even if they the role of support, don't let them hit your weak point. They're quite a very offensive support. They could also set up areas with the grapple hook to make targets weaker.

👤 v-model カイエラ

I never released a reference for my VR model, did I? Well, here it is!

My model is very much a modified version of Etoigne by @tamakoneko_mata!
The head being smaller is pretty much intentional for personal experience. However, in streams where I'm not in VR, it's actually the original Etoigne head size.

I'll probably will release a video of what my model can do on VR, but we'll see~

🐻 Bear Kaiera

...or should I say, Plush Bear Kaiera!

On Twitter, I made a poll voting for 💙 Cuddly Bear Kai vs 💜 Fluent Owl Kai for the usual "November Flair" I do every year, and after three years of losing, we finally get the Cuddly Bear! Losing one for each year, once against the 💜 Keep-warm Espeon Kai, 💜 Cosy Ferret Kai, and the 💜 Nuzzly Squirrel Kai!

That does mean that the Fluent Owl Kai will appear in next year's poll!
The poll was indeed interesting! during it's run! On the first day, Bear was winning, and then on the next day Owl was winning! Then it was nearly close, but Bear won. I don't know how it overturned... I was just surprised!

The design of Bear Kai this time around compared to the previous years is that Bear Kai is deliberately designed to be plush and attractive. It's also intended to keep the new Kaiera design from this year. Also big fluffy round tail.

The Prowling Bell, the casino full of riches and wonder. It's known to keep a very noticeable dim cat and spade motif, noticeable with its staff and its surroundings.

Its areas are dark and cozy, making everyone who plays their games emphasized with minimal distractions from the outside. Also evident its completely reddish cat-based staff, having bizarre patterns that you usually don't expect from a cat… adorning large tails, and a dark attire, lessening the attention to the dealer and emphasizing only on the action.

Well, it's not just that, it is particularly well known as a place of fairness and a guaranteed location to make a decent fortune… up to a certain extent. No patrons so far complained of losses and usually you would leave with a bit more coin from when you came.

However, there are rumors, some people end up worse than they came with, ending up with possibly massive sums of debt, thrown in a single game or two. A soloist dealer comes up to those who need such luck to come back from debt, or a fate that no one knows but the Prowling Bell... with no other players and only just the two of them.

The game is simple: everything is set in only one game, and it's a simple coin flip. The coin itself is pretty unique: it's not your usual heads or tails. You'd even get to flip the coin yourself, if you choose.

If you win, they get refunded everything they lost back to where they were initially when they entered the Prowling Bell, plus one coin, for good measure. If the dealer wins… well, let's say you lose something that is very important to you.

You'll win if the one you guessed is not what you picked, I win if it matches.

Oh, the name is Catier by the way.

The cat themselves gets remarkably close. Their tail caressing around you.

"So the question is now... Soul or Body?"

They placed their arm on your shoulder, with the other arm extended outward in front of your view, showing the coin.

Thinking it over, does it make sense picking soul? Soul? Is that right? The feeling to pick soul is strong. The body makes more sense to pick if your intuition is right.. So body. Yeah. Makes more sense. Pick body. Body.

"Soul."

The cat's ears peaked.

"Soul? That's quite intriguing… Everybody picks them nowadays."

The cat places their paw on your hand, giving you the coin.
"Well, your move!"

Without any other thought than dread, your hand moved right away.

The coin flips...

Not going to lie, this is trickier to write than the Soul Timekeeper one. I want to introduce the concepts slowly but also flow well, and I just don't know how to make them flow well... so I tried my best.

I always end up picking up a Vampire-kind of Magician-kind of thing in my Halloween stuffs... so this time why not spice it up with a gambler? Wait no... a casino dealer. Of course, it has its horrible twist to it!

As much as I love the points system, I have come to a decision with a heavy heart. I will be phasing this out this month. This is because I'm actually doing something that I'm actually trying to avoid in the first place: doing commissions (well, in this case, Patreon rewards) constantly. With the amount of higher-tier patrons getting large, I decided to phase this out.

I realize the reason I'm not really doing much in terms of my own progress is that I just end up worrying about the point rewards and finishing them, like a looming threat standing in a corner with an axe. By not doing this, I would be free of concerns on that over time and spending time on what you guys should be paying for when pledging with me, with your pledges ended up to be more worth it.

I don't think limiting every patron's point gain would work too as it's kinda delaying to the same result, making it slower. I would love to hear of ideas to replace this though! I still want to give something more rewarding to the patrons.

Anyway, I'm not taking anyone's points away. You can still use them as if the points system is still there: you can give it to others, hold on to it, use it for discount commissions, and alike. Exactly the same as before. Plus, I am still finishing the queue no matter what. I don't like abandoning requests after you all waited for so long.

I wish I could have written this earlier to give you all more time to remove your pledge if your incentive is the points. For that I am sorry.

📹 VRChat :: Happy Halloween (Preliminary)

⭐ This stuff is Patrons-only!

Another visit to the iY MMD World to do another dance for the occasion! However, this is the preliminary to figure out what needs to be done for the public version.

So let's point out what needs to be done:

• Emote Choreography. The avatar does not animate along with the dance, because the avatar is simply not fit to do facial expressions automagically
• An attempt at doing compatibility with MMD, which is what causes compatibility with the animations
• Fix the timing of the music to the motion, it's slightly off by a few seconds

Limitations:

• The mouth will never move unless MMD compatibility is done. The mouth is forced to keep shut during the animation, which sadly does not allow me to record vocals on them

I honestly want to cover this but I don't think I have enough time to learn the song and finish it in a timely manner. However, the dance is already nice enough if you ask me!

What my model is wearing right now is actually the Halloween outfit, without the Halloween part, save for the wings. What's left is actually the undershirt, which looks pretty interesting because it reminds me of dance practice.

I woke up feeling great today! So I thought for today's warm-up I'd take a picture and place my character in it~

Now that's done, time to finish Simplae Round 12.

🌐 Kaiera's VRC Customs

In my free time, I was doing some customs for a few friends for VRChat.
Two of them paid points, and two of them actually paid me directly!

So here's what I made so far: in order - Scotty, Phennie, Chinoki, and AY

Scotty, Chinoki and AY are based on the Etoigne model, adjusted to make player feel better over design (same as my VR model)

Phennie is based on the Moopdrea Cat.

All of them are modifications, as I can't really make new clothing for all of them and I mostly scavenged to get some stuff right. I don't have enough experience to make custom clothing for any model. Like Phennie's collar and Chino's glasses. Chino's specifically utilizes the different outfits Etogine has to make the ensemble. The hair actually is modifications coming from VRoid Studio, which is really powerful when making custom hair.

I only asked people to buy the base first before allowing me to customize them. I respect the model makers as much as I modify them.

I'll probably show my model modifications soon!

Honestly, I don't know if I should open commissions for these. These do take time.

I've started to write down some stuff about a document about Furria's guiding principles to start guiding everyone how to properly get their content on Furria.

I found a secret dance in the iY MMD World on VRChat.

Honestly, this is a test of my model can handle MMD stuff. I really want to do more of these!
Seems I need to modify it a bit if I want it to support facial expressions.

It should've been in full 60fps too, but the environment didn't allow that sadly.
Update: I updated the video to have it in full 60fps with a subtle better quality too!
