Key Prop

All my films seem to have some key prop to make the engine of the story work. This was the one for 'Aztec'. Obsidian blades are not something you see at your corner Target. But Amazon hosted a Mexican company that could deliver one, and so voila!

OWN ALL 14 SEASONS!

I'm relaunching the package that will allow you to own all 14 seasons of films! After I took it down in August, a lot of people let me know they had difficulty signing up on Patreon. So I took some time to restructure, and the tier to OWN ALL 14 SEASONS for $399 will appear on Wednesday of this week! Sign up as soon as you can, and in January you'll get download links for all 14 seasons of films, plus a special package with a few highlights from my BTS!

The Depths

A film that wasn't finished because the shots were corrupted - I recast and finally finished!

This is an interesting piece, a short film with talk of the Knights Templar, one of mythologies favorite foot soldiers.

I'm trying to find somewhere to squeeze this on my release schedule. More later.

Charges!

Here we are again, everyone! Patreon is putting in its charges. Hang in there, they will hopefully be done by this evening, tomorrow at the latest. But as soon as I get the ok I'll be sending them out.

Change

I did some work with one of my old films that I never liked - breaking it up and making a new project with. One features this actress (seen in her audition photo).

You'll see it as the 8th movie in the new upcoming season!

Eating

It was pointed out to me that I always have characters eating in my films.

Well, people eat! But after looking at this submission tape from an actress where she was performing a scene in which I had the character eat, then yeah, I guess I do have people eat often.

(By the way, the actress got the part!)

Classic

Is there any more classic horror movie image than a figure appearing at the top of basement stairs? I got to use a few classic themes and images in 'The Frankenstein Club', which delighted me to no end.

Side Gig

Recording an actor's audition tape. I do this sometimes for the actors I work with, and sometimes for a little additional cash. Agencies and clients have become very demanding that actors submit very professional self tapes, some as long as 8 pages of dialogue!

Feature

This film, 'The Frankenstein Club', was one of the films I considered expanding into a feature.

I still would like to do a feature soon, but somehow or other I passed on making this one into it. Still a good film, nonetheless. You'll see it in February.

Tough Job

I had to drizzle yogurt on Alex's bare breast during this shoot in a scene where she was sloppily eating a midnight snack. Really tough job I have. But it all factors into a horror element of the film.

Props

Ok, this came in the mail last week, so I guess I can move ahead with THAT project!

Finally!

I finally got around to shooting this film during the week. I'll work on it, and see if I can squeeze a trailer out. A few stills will be coming your way next week!

Completion

Looking through my films, I have 3 films that are half finished, which for one reason or another I've abandoned. There's the one with the single shot of Danielle - I abandoned that because most of the footage was corrupted (I'll be reshooting the rest of that film), a film that had a brief nude scene by Alex (I just never got around to finishing that), and one using the above actress, Breanna. She had a line of dialogue, but it wasn't until later I found out that the audio wasn't working. Now that I'll more than likely not have Brea in any other movies, I think I'll shoot the rest of that one in December or January.

Busy...

This is the start of a busy week. I've got two projects I'm trying to bring to maturity. And I'm also looking into a film I half finished that has an appearance by Breanna. I need to bear down the next couple of weeks,  before the holidays when a lot of actors aren't available.

The Depths

It's about to turn into a horror film, once this prop enters the fray in the film 'The Depths'. Something I'm currently working on.

Post Mortem

I'm finishing up my edit on this project, and hope to get a teaser out to everyone in the next week or so.

Prop

Long delayed, but I finally received the last prop I need for an upcoming shoot! Time to get on to the myriad other preps before shooting - incidental castings, set dec, and last minute shot changes.

Post Mortem

I had an interesting shoot last week on the film 'Post Mortem'. It's something to look forward to.

Delete

Later today I'm deleting the $30 level. I believe as of this writing I still have a few people who haven't pulled out yet.

Also, be sure you've done your download, that's being deleted today as well!

Delay!

I had to delay shooting on a short this week as I wait for a prop to be delivered. As you can see in the picture, props add quite a lot to a shoot.

Owning

For now the $30 level is being dropped. So for those who are still there, I'll be deleting that level and you'll have to pick a new level to be at.

I'll be offering all 14 seasons again in January, and this level may return in the future. But for now, it's an abandoned building.

My Creepiest Horror Film!

"The Wall" is the film I think is my absolute creepiest. It's slow in developing that under-your-skin feeling. The actors loved it, particularly Alex who, to this day consider it the best we worked on.

I'm always a little disappointed in my films. If you're not, then you aren't a real filmmaker. I didn't feel it lived up to what I wanted it to be. But getting some distance from it, I went back and watched it. And I have to agree, this is one of my best.

So, enjoy your Halloween, watch some horror films (hopefully some of mine!). And don't forget, today is your LAST day to change levels of support. This is also the last month (for now) to own the movie-of-the-month!

13 for Halloween - 1

"The Dark Coat". The #1 film. It encompasses a lot of the other films - an old fear returning, a creature that can't be explained in this modern world.

"The New Gospel" is probably one of my favorite stories - it incorporates all I try to do with 'Urban Horror' - expressing the horrors that can spring up in our modern world. Particularly the willingness so many have to be led by online 'influencers'.
