Interview With Sopo Japaridze

I recently spoke to the Georgian Marxist Sopo Japaridze regarding the latest parliamentary elections in Georgia. In this interview we discuss the pro-EU/NATO opposition and their, rather incoherent, attempts to prove the election was rigged. We also discuss the reality of the Georgian Dream party and how Russia has very little to do with the way that people actually voted.

As the government of Michel Barnier escapes a no confidence vote we examine the shady deals done between Macron and Le Pen. In this episode we argue the New Popular Front effectively committed political suicide by agreeing to a pact with Macron in the recent legislative elections. We also examine how the lefts interpretation of fascism as a set of aesthetics leads them to make these ludicrous mistakes.

The Foundations Of Fascism - Social Darwinism & Eugenics

In this episode of our series on World War 2 we look at some of foundations of fascism. To do this we turn back to the work of the British libertarian Herbert Spencer who coined the phrase "survival of the fittest". We also examine how popular the ideas of the eugenics movement were with those on the left and why this pseudo science remains popular with bourgeois intellectuals to this day.

Lebanon and the Price of Liberation

In this episode look at recent US/Israeli attacks on Lebanon and how these fit into the history of imperialist violence. We argue that in most cases the imperialists will always seek to brutalise the masses into abandoning their hopes at liberation and to separate them from revolutionary movements. We also look at the sectarian constitution imposed on Lebanon and how this fits into the various "peace" treaties imposed by US imperialism in the 1990s which sought to institutionalise religious or ethnic divisions.

In this episode we look at the events of 23 years ago which saw the World Trade Centre destroyed and the Pentagon suffer damage to it's accounting department. We look back at those events and look at the contending theories as to why this happened and how.

We begin the programme though by looking at a recent fawning interview given to arch US imperial propagandist Anne Appelbaum by norovirus media.

In this episode we examine the gigantic amounts of debt incurred by successive Ukrainian governments. In doing so we make the argument that the Kiev regime is so dependent upon its US, British and German creditor that it is ludicrous to argue that Ukraine can be regarded as anything other than a neo-colony of the USA.

Macron's Scam and the Failure of the French Left

As the Macron manoeuvres with Le Pen to form a new government we look at the failed tactics used by the French left. In doing so we make the argument that the popular front tactic was actually a failure that led to the left collaborating with Macron, supposedly to stop Le Pen, only to have Macron start bargaining with Le Pen immediately afterwards. We also examine the track record of the veteran technocrat Michel Barnier who Macron has chosen as his new Prime Minister.

A Britain Without Imperialism - Part 2

In the second part of this exploration of the potential end of British imperialism we delve into more crimes of the British ruling class. We pay particular attention to Ireland and argue that the only way for British workers to truly overcome this foul legacy is to remove the ruling class from power.

The Daryl Cooper Problem

In the first episode of our relaunched series on World War 2 we look at the recent interview given by the American fascist Daryl Cooper to Tucker Carlson. In our response to that we argue that Cooper is right to question the established narrative about World War Two but the questions he asks, due to his pro-fascist position, are utterly wrong headed.

In this response we outline the questions that Marxists should ask about the Anglo-American imperialist narrative. These include the origins of the Nazis, Hitlers ideas, the pro-fascist actions of British imperialism, the influence of imperialism on Nazi thought and much more.

Can You Have Britain Without Imperialism? - Part 1

In this episode we explore the possibilities of whether there can be a Britain without imperialism. In doing so we look at British history and make the argument that there is another tradition in Britain, that of the oppressed and exploited, which stands in contrast to that of the ruling class and the latters version of history.
