HeyJ, squad! First of all, I’m sorry to have missed you at the premiere. 😭 I… uh… rested my eyes a few minutes after a late night and ended up down for the count longer than anticipated. 🥴 I hope it was a good time for anyone who attended!

Greetings, encounterers! Here's your first chance to meet our Amanda actress -- Alyssa! As stated in the video, we met her through Angi Viper and she was an absolutely pleasure to work with! But filming Amanda & Wooly's scenes on green screen was only part of what needs to be filmed. The rest of the musical is going to take place on an attic set... which AJ and I still need to go out into the garage and finish constructing! Stay tuned for a REport about that in the near future!

HeyJ, team! Let’s get the obvious out of the way: why don’t they make all those sweet Spider-man onesies and light-up unicorn shoes in adult sizes? 😔 Or, more to the point, at least offer adult sizing in fun colors? I can only keep so much black and gray in my closet, y’know… (*adds more black RE merch to the shop*) 🥴
We’re making more progress on Amanda the Adventurer, but there’s certainly significant challenges ahead for it still. I’m also hoping we can spill more beans in the next week or so on future projects, but as always, RE’s schedule is in perpetual flux… Thank you for making our jobs possible (and even profitable!) for 12 amazing years and we’re looking forward to a 13th with you! 🥳

Greetings, encounterers! Now that MomoCon is behind us, it's time to focus our attention on the next musical! Amanda the Adventurer is a game we've gotten multiple requests for, but we weren't sure we were going to be able to do it until just recently. However, now that we've gotten confirmation from our actress that she's available, it's full steam ahead! Also on the agenda is our upcoming BIRTHDAY LIVESTREAM on June 7th! In case you missed the last REport, that stream will be the final episode of REPlayed, so be sure to join us. Lastly, stay tuned for the "MomoCon REport" that AJ mentioned in this one! We want Random Encounters to be the most fun, active channel possible and, approaching our 12th birthday, it felt time to revisit how best to accomplish that mission again. Greetings, encounterers! Our first shoot day was Saturday, but it went super late into the night and we had to stop "early" so that we could film and edit the Battle Royale REcap. We completely forgot to film a REport during that hectic night, so you get this one instead! PIZZA TOWER: THE MUSICAL premieres on April 28th, so this'll probably be the last REport before it launches. Now then... it's time for me to go back to work and add some sound effects!

Another, shorter update from out in our driveway, where we’re busy filming… uh… a secret. 😅 But I looked at my phone after filming this and indeed have an actor interested for our April musical… We’ll need their co-star on board, though, as well, and that’s not so certain yet. Still excited to be setting this one up, though, since it would check some boxes off that have sat waiting for years. 😏

HeyJ, team! Wow, how many times can one lonely musical get the boot?! This poor project has been bounced again and again! Had we not unexpectedly gone dark for... (*counts slowly on fingers*) ...NINE WEEKS?!... you may have already gotten to watch it! Alas, fate had other plans... Shelved until further notice, but I'm certain the third time will be the charm!
I completely forgot ANOTHER big thing going on, but the truth is, we're not far enough into it yet to spill the beans... I think you'll be excited to learn about it, though (and you may even end up hearing a little something-something about it from someone else online first!)
Thank you so much for your patience. This has been historically the toughest start to a year in RE history, but I believe we'll pick up the pace and have some very, VERY fun videos added to the channel by the end of 2023! Maybe this year will be higher quality, lower quantity? Of course, we try making EVERY musical 'higher' quality (well... except 'The Power of Pong,' maybe...) I think most of you agree, or you wouldn't support us here on Patreon! ;)
Thanks again for doing that, by the way. I suspect we'll be spending quite a bit on some big projects this year (bigger than the new Princess Peach dress!), and we'll do our best to keep you informed about some of the exciting things you're helping Random Encounters pay for. We're a Go Big or Go Home kind of channel, and we appreciate having you on board, month after month, to go BIG! You all deserve big projects with huge impacts, and it's an honor to get to build them with your help. :) We'll do everything in our power to make the pay-offs always more-than-worth it!

This month may end up kinda dicey, but we’re doing our best to set up a schedule and force a project through. Never since the dawn of RE have we gone this late in the year without at least two musicals already. 😓 FEELS BAD, MAN. But I guess we all know what that means: we backload 2023 with EXTRA songs before the holidays! 😛 (Ad rev’s better then, anyway!)
Jokes (?) aside, we’ll do our best to film the right projects at the right time. Thank you for sticking with us, and we hope your year has been off to a better start than ours! 😂

This community is so amazing. 🥰 Thank you for spending time with us for the first time since 2019 (yes, REALLY!), and we’re committed to getting to more events in more cities… hopefully ones you won’t need to travel so far to!
Do let us know your thoughts about the possibility of expanding into Roblox-inspired musicals. RE caters to an unbelievably wide audience, and striking a balance is only getting trickier. 💀 As always, our core requirement is only to put an RE spin (and a catchy song!) on anything we make, but I know what a difference knowing the game and appreciating its references can make. ❤️

HeyJ, crew. As you can probably guess from the title, Apple has not found a solution to my computer troubles yet. In fact, they’ve found even more of them. I’m still pushing forward with repairs (details why in the video), but this “bump in the road” is now setting us back a solid month. We’ll do our best to make the most where we can and catch up.
Random Encounters has an absolutely chock full history of difficulties, but we’re still here today. I fully intend to be here tomorrow, next week, and next year as well (but not physically here next week, cause we have a lovely convention to attend.) Thanks for sticking with us. I deeply desire some good news to share with you sometime, but for now, we’ll look at the silver linings and wait out the rest. 👍

HeyJ, friends! Let’s be direct: there’s painfully little going on here this month, but that wasn’t our plan. 😒 Computer repairs have forced us into an impromptu vacation we didn’t want and aren’t enjoying, but hopefully the break will actually help energize us to move twice as fast once Apple finishes up their work on my machine.
Since I can’t make any songs right now, I’ve been digging out old files to update and tracking down missing archive material — basically, busywork. Gwen and Nate are handling some taxes and business work, and I thought it was time to find something kind of fun to tackle together for a change. So BEHOLD, THE FIRST OF OUR PROTOTYPE TRADING CARD BOSS BATTLES! I convinced my charming guinea pigs to play several rounds of varying decks/rules/formats and though it’s all BUSTED AS SHUDGE, I think it still yielded a good time and some silly, single-player potential. 🙂
We’ll do a bit more testing, add a few tweaks, and hopefully at last unveil our first official Boss Character for you to battle this spring. Thanks for staying patient waiting on each insane RE idea to finally be completed!

HeyJ, squad! Quick and dirty update for ya’ll while we’re still in production. I finished my recording tonight, but we haven’t touched Gwen’s yet. And no, I probably won’t share the “rejected” VFX shots, because the lighting was the biggest issue and they’d honestly need color correction just to tell what you’re seeing. 😂 One of the perks of studios is never needing sunlight to cooperate! (Though admittedly, as we learned during the pandemic, trying to film inside nonstop has got plenty of drawbacks, too!)
Since Friday is just a teaser, we’ll save the Trombone Champ Discord voice chat until next week. Hang in there, it’s pretty close now!
