This is a small piece I did in the interim.

Here we have Rixa, from the harbourmaster strips and pages I made a while back

I still haven't fully defined the design, but I'll keep on working on the idea. This is just me practicing and keeping the idea alive. Although I really shouldn't worry about that because i'm actually working on the setting... That's right, the harbourmaster story is set to take place in the Asylum setting (namely, another city. The universe's name is 'monster continent')

Monster-ism : New day (p15)

This is a good stopping point for this little part.

 I'm still working on Jasper's biology and what would make it work. I had an idea of merging the thorax with the abdomen and move the legs back to get some more space, basically making her more centaur like... but I'm not sure how that could work on the long run.

Sketch Dev - M - Watch rework

I thought i would be done with reworks and retcons... But that doesn't seem to be the case.

The subject of today's fix is the watch Jasper, Katie and Rowan have been seen wearing. THe original design was a bulky slab, almost trying to make it seem like they had their own phones strapped around their wrists. Obviously, this made drawing them far more cumbersome than it should've been as the form isn't exactly ergonomic.

New version resembles more a normal watch, albeit a high tech one. Albeit, somewhat bulkier so as to store the tech that allows them to assume human form.

Other changes i might implement include Jasper's legs again, namely toning down the chitin or make it look more mammalian. Also the idea could change the number of joints of the legs.

And we now have a new character into the story (albeit, in a flashback).  Meet Rowan, a bit of a fierce girl who attends the same school as Jasper. 

Hang on tight because with the way the first day is going, I'm going to have to pause things to start coming up and perfecting designs for characters. figuring ways to make crowds and so on. ^^;

Alright. Figured I wanted to revisit this concept and push it. At least to the point I can start introducing more characters with particular conditions.

I'm still not entirely sold in the design, things like the placement of some of the nether organs and the position of the legs does bug me (To be fair, the 'creature girl' variant did come with an explanation as to where everything, even bones, went.

Some changes made to the design: 

-Eyes have been altered so you can see where they're looking, 

- Plaques are now part of the back to justify the arms, which are a tad lower rather than coming up from the arm pit.

- Carapace on the legs is thinner.

- Keeping the pedipal/legs 

Still, think i've gotten faster at drawing it. It's the coloring that i think might bog me down. So if there's anyone willing to color as a fan gift or a collab, I'd be up for it.

I still haven't used my new computer yet >.>

Monster-ism (pause)

This year, I began work in to the minicomic monster-ism, which i hope to make into a series...

 However, I quickly came with the thought I might be making my life difficult with the character design I came up with. Don't think I would have an issue if it were to be for a couple of pages, but this being a POV character, made me wonder if I should have gone for something simpler. And, this idea has been buggering me for a couple of months now.

Seizing the chance that i have my tablet out, I decided to make some sketches for alternate designs and variants, just to be sure what's prefered.

So, let me know what you think, and if you wanna see the mini comic continued.

New desktop screen isn't working as well as I might've hoped for. So I switched back to the laptop for the time being to complete this piece. What's wrong with trading a big screen for a small screen when i don't have the room to use it.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I know many expect to see pieces of art today. But for reasons, I can't work in my drawing just yet...

Well... recently a bought myself an expensive desktop and I'm already regretting it. I would consider it an impulse purchase that really put a dent in my savings.  Because now, i have to spend more money to get it in shape. (Thing didn't come with speakers or windows license).

But also a big problem i have right now is that the screen i ordered happened to be huge, so much so that i still haven't figured out how to set up the drawing tablet.

It just feels so unnecessary, considering my laptop happens to be still working, minor a few imperfections. Getting a desktop just felt like a bad call...

This is just the more recent screw up in a line of bad decisions I've made, it feels...

I'm really sorry. As the title says, I haven't been able to work on piece of art to show today.

Part of the problem is that real life work gets in the way. (I'm still not at the level where I can sustain myself with art and writing... and not sure if i ever will).

I think the biggest problem is that I'm a bit reluctant to coming up with a new setting or character because i often times feel obliged to continuing even if i don't have plans for it later. And then I look at the other pieces I've done and wonder if i should get back to work on them:

- Temple boon, for example, appears to be quite fun, but it might need some work, specially when it comes to the forest background.

- 7th pokemon, I think should be given a more dedicated reboot.

-Monsterism or new monster.- I love the set up, but i either need to work on the redesign or species change of the main character if i want to carry on with it.

and so on.

I do feel like, one day. I should do a cull of ideas and comics and decided which should be considered complete.

I have, also, finally bought a new desktop computer which might mean some adjusting but also open a couple more avenues in terms of production. It might create some delays as I try to get set up, but the dent it made in my savings is an incentive to up my work.

Once again, sorry, but i'll try to make it up to you.

It certainly makes me think about some of my old works and wish to go back to them... I know I promise this every now and then. Just get sidetracked on something else while i try to figure out how to improve on the original so I can get to the level everyone wants.

HBR. Rogue Night in Haverien - 5

Having resolved to taking a more active role in governing the lands of the south, Lord Mistral has begun making plans for a local folkloric event to celebrate the start harvests of fall.

Mikea, on the other hand, finds herself more and more restlessly curious about the world outside, and as new people start to walk into her life,

At the same time, some unsavory individuals find themselves drawn to the little town in the south, emboldened at the idea of it being a struggling town with an absent ruler.

And here we've reached the fifth and final part of this story.

Sometimes I feel like I should go for more bombastic drastic plots, but end up leaning for what i imagine as the 'safer' ones. What do you think?
