Sand vs wind vs rain

High winds can create beautiful structures when there is also rain involved in the form of a few showers, which is what happened here.

Noctilucent Clouds over the sea

A nice display of NLC, captured July 15, this year. Theoretically this is a sunset afterglow, as it's sunlight hitting those thin, 80km high clouds ;-)

It was about time.. Well, way overdue in my humble opinion 🙄 (That shot is a volume knob.) Expect another week before I finally release a new main channel video :)

Lively sunset

Boat, ship, pier, turbines. A lot going on in this sunset :-)

Moon and Venus long exposure

In fact, it's a stack of 81 photos combined to create this trails.

Crescent Moonset with earthshine (attempt)

Not nice but perhaps interesting. This is the best attempt thus far at capturing a crescent moon setting over the ocean. Due the low light it needs to be extremely clear. Over land it's usually higher in the sky, thus brighter. Annoying is the wind turbine right in front of the crescent. But the result is blurry anyway due the long exposure still required to capture it.

Surreal Light

This photo from 2006 (re-processed raw file) captures a very low sun after a severe rain shower. The air had rained completely clear it seemed, as I had never seen a low sun this bright. This combined with the still very dark sky and late spring green resulted in a quite surreal landscape photo.

A sign of life on YouTube... A bit too vague I realize now (even for Lazy Posy standards)…

Moar Splatz (with text)

An addition to the Splat HiFi video is this 'first micro system' by JVC from 1991... Again captured using the gaussian splat 3D scanning technology (using Jawset Postshot).

Disappearing horizon

Less and less clear horizon remains while the construction of more windfarms continues. If I want to continue capturing sunsets I might have to slowly think about moving elsewhere... But it's a good place for wind turbines, much better than on land near residential areas.

Quite acceptable preglow

I also have a video of this (not a time lapse), which will appear in that sun film project that perhaps maybe some day will be finished...

Tugboat (probably)

A tugboat nicely below the sun, accompanied by new huge wind turbines combines into an interesting sunset.

The "Iceland Punishment"

I caught a really nasty virus in the airplane back from Iceland. Been laying flat for 3 days and still have a cold, so that has somewhat slowed down my productivity ambitions...

On the photo here is "Jökulsárlón" lake (the biggest glacier in Iceland). Somehow I haven't seen 278789235 similar photo's yet with this rock in front of it but I'm quite sure it must have been done before countless times.

Night Sunrise (in Iceland)

This was the last photo I took while on a 'vacation' (more photo trip) with the family. It was completely planned and arranged by my sister, who actually ran a small travel agency for a few years (long story). I shot this last Saturday, 3:28 AM, through the curtains of my bedroom in the last place we stayed... I wouldn't mind this view at home :)
But I'm back and I want to finally finish that 'Splat Hifi' video...

Dandelion sunset

The camera is almost on the grass.

Red and green

Even though the setting sun was red, at least at the top there was enough green left for a little 'mini green flash'.

Unusual pattern in the sand

Somehow water flowed though the ripples in the sand, creating this unusual pattern.

Poppies in France

The best field of poppies I've ever seen. The farmer was probably not very pleased with it... Shot in 2020 (after the first COVID wave).

The reason the whole sun capturing thing started was actually to try and capture mirages, like these (same sunset, different moment). They often don't look very exciting unfortunately 😁
