Some thoughts and a long ramble on where I'm at (TLDR included)

Not really expecting many of you to read all of that shii.. I mean you're probably here just for higher quality naughty stuff right?

Up to you, TLDR: Too much perfectionism and overthinking, my skills get better yet my output decreased. Thinking how to reach an acceptable compromise of my vision and a timely manner. I love what I do and have too many ideas and regret that it feels I only bring a few of them to life.

The reason the Furina animation and "style" specifically has taken so long is due to my rather not great obsession with doing things as proper as possible, I guess you can call it perfectionism, I don't necessarily feel it's apt because I'm hyper-aware of all the things I let slide that I feel could be done better but would take even more time.

And it's not even like it was my magnum opus or anything, in fact I spent significantly more time just studying and learning the techniques for this style, compared to how long the animation took, which in the end while I do hope it was worth it, I can't help but wonder if quality wise, is it even all that noticeable from just your plain old standard stylized shader setup you can learn to do in blender in a single day?

I've got all these thoughts I've been pondering over, and I just never figure it out completely. I always have the takeaway something's gotta change and I gotta improve but.. it's like I never really know for sure what I should do and change specifically. I think maybe I can change my approach or just settle and animate only the fast bits (the in N outs) but I find it hard to give up all the inbetweens, the.. foreplay, that I feel just adds to it and makes it far more enticing. I think something would be lost if I cut out things, again like the foreplay, just in favor of pumping out stuff more often.

I hate that I just don't manage to post more frequently, I'm honestly always surprised and extremely grateful by how many of you stick around, especially with my rather messy schedule, I used to think I couldn't give myself the luxury to take so long to work on something but thanks to your support, I have been able to.

Maybe this is just a bunch of silly overthinking on my part, after all, from your perspective I assume most of you just liked my stuff enough you thought it was worth supporting, and that's that, I mean, it's just silly naughty animations, what's with me philosophizing and overthinking so much over it? All the while, what's possibly just a meager amount for you, yet can aid me so significantly when it's all of you together.

I don't even know where I'm going with all of this, I just had a lot of thoughts I had to let out I suppose, owed you all my perspective for what I feel is a failure on my part on not delivering as often as I'd like. It sucks, that it seems the more I learned, it had the opposite effect where my output was instead decreased. And trust me when I say I really do enjoy making this, I have so many ideas all the time, yet at my pace I get to work on so little of them, usually only one at a time. Ah... if there was something I wished I had it's a hyperbolic time chamber, then I could go stay holed up until I worked and finished everything I wanted and barely a day would pass.

So how do I even conclude all of this? I guess my issue is always trying to live up to the impossible standard I set for myself, me, not anyone else, no one else has really imposed it on me. And I don't really know how to fix it either, again, I already feel that I give up on so much to be "timely" yet I feel my rate of output is anything but, and I keep thinking I'll manage to simplify it further and not compromise the vision, manage to animate it fast, quick, but it just never is quite that simple or easy.

I'm still working on my pace and figuring it all out, despite the few years I've worked on this now.

So yeah that's how I feel. If you read all of that rambling.. thanks. Or even if you didn't and skipped to the end. I'm just grateful you're here, even if it is just for the lewds.

(Genshin/WIP) Furina Part 1 Preview + Future Plans

TLDR: Further polish needed before 4K final + audio, part 2 afterwards, aiming to do next OW animation with Juno hopefully within next 2 ~ 3 months.

Well here we are, it's almost done but as always there's things I want to polish and fix before the final version, then I'll render the 4K, get the audio work done etc. Got sick for a week this month and that delayed me further, otherwise I would have liked to have it all done and ready for today if not earlier but.. as usual, shit happens.

There's 3 more main.. positions I want to do with this scene which I pray to God goes faster and better, since now at least I only have to animate as opposed to everything I had to learn and setup just to get to what you see now. Might result in a part 2 and 3 depending how it goes. Hopefully.. as always.. will aim for a timely manner, if my perfectionism doesn't kill me again.

As for future plans. Juno came out in Overwatch. She cute right? I know what you're all thinking, yes next Overwatch animation will feature her. Already got an idea I'd love to work on for her. No promises since I've been pretty bad with my timelines this year but.. I hope within the next 2 to 3 months or so. Still need Overtool to update for her model, or I'll go look into other means. And number of you remind me of your love for Kiriko, yes rest assured I share the feelings and there'll be more ;P

There's a whole lot more going on behind the scenes that I could ramble on about, which I think I'll do for my sanity and for those curious what's been going on, but later, once I finish the animation. For now, I believe that's enough. So thanks for reading and for being here <3

After far too much experimentation, fiddling with settings, remaking things over and over.. I feel I got a decent grasp of what I'm doing in this style now, at least.

Next up I'll finish this animation properly, and in the future I'll be flip flopping as I feel between this more anime style and your usual Overwatch plus whatever else comes (yeah imagine that).

Finally done, hope you guys like it! Audio already included this time. I finished rendering and sent it off to Volkor, then my computer's mobo went kaput. Had to do a lot of shenanigans to access my hard drive on another PC, and add the audio in to post here, running linux off a usb drive because windows didn't wanna read the disk.. I'll spare you the gory details.

Either way my main PC is outta commission for the next week most likely, I already ordered replacement parts but it'll take a bit to arrive and then for me to assemble. While I did have the Genshin animation in progress still, that's a further delay on it.. sigh.

Thanks to all of your support though, at least unforeseen events like this isn't the end of the world since I could replace the parts. A far cry from years past. Thanks guys, I'll be back as soon as I can! <3

So this is just me playing around and testing her model, making an upgraded Dva for myself. Animation itself could be much improved but it's just a one off test, quickie, and I'll be focusing on her actual longer animation I'm now working on.

And yes if you were wondering I will of course be doing Overwatch as I feel like it, and now Genshin too along with whatever else strikes me fancy in the future. The Genshin animation with Furina is also a work in progress but since I have too many ideas for that one, it'll be longer and will take longer to finish, so for now I'm doing a quicker Dva one, coming up soon, and then the next I shall fully focus on the Furina one.

The stage is set (Genshin)

Yep. Kept you waiting huh? Sorry about that.

I really wanna do this justice, the best that I can manage. Of course that took its toll, seeing as only about now I'm really getting somewhere, enough that I have something to share that I'm happy enough with.

I've pretty much spent all of February sinking my teeth into anime shading and workflow for blender, and then the time to apply all that and rig our first character here (Furina). And of course to be able to animate what I usually do, we do need our male talent so that's what I'm working on now, at least he's close to done in about 90% less time taken since I now know what I doing.


I'll aim for a proper animation in March, finally getting to the fun stuff after all this technical work. Thanks to all of you who stuck around, I know it was dry as a desert lately and that's a flaw of mine with my tendency to get tunnel visioned hard into what I'm doing, neglecting everything else, to my detriment.. but alas. I hope you'll all enjoy what's to come, and thanks always for your support <3

Quick Update

Alright my fellows just posting this to, one, let you know the last animation with Kiriko and Mercy just got the audio work done and the previous post is updated accordingly, and two, that I took a few weeks of vacation ever since finishing the animation around xmas but I'll be getting back to work soon. 


Few more thoughts below if you're interested on what's next.


On that note it's time to flex some creative muscles and see how I do when I try making a more stylized workflow for 2D anime style stuff in blender. Been meaning to do that for a while now, studying it on and off too but it's about time to put it into practice. No idea yet how it's gonna go but I hope it'll be fun and that you'll all like it.


Either way first I got some characters to rig to be able to animate them, naturally, then build an environment for the next animation. Might have something more to show this month, and I'll try to have that animation done the next. We'll see how it goes, until then, thank you for your support always <3

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and your holidays are going well. I can't quite say the same since I've spent until now working on this, polishing it up and all xmas rendering it. Very fun times. Sorry it took this long, I bit way more than I can chew at once, given that this ended up my longest anim in a single go (2 mins) not counting the ones like the beach one or Tats Kiriko because I made one part in a given month then finished the rest after.

Frankly it's a miracle it works, way too much went into it, especially in a given blender file, it's my biggest single project file yet at 1 GB, almost 4K frames rendered, the simulations especially were a pain point. And I learned all that can go wrong with doing something this big in one go but I'll spare you the details. Sigh I'm exhausted. I hope you all like it though. I don't even know how I feel about it by now since I spent so long on it.

Just to let you know how it's coming along since no way I'm finishing it before the month ends plus rendering.

Shall I do one of those corporate disclaimers here? Everything you see here is subject to change, early alpha preview yada yada. I realized I was almost stressing up on polishing a preview, but come on it's a wip post. So there you go, a look at it with just mostly the basics, what bothers me the most here is the lack of physics and some clipping that I'll fix later on, and physics especially come last once the animation is done. Now I've mostly got the action left to complete. Be back soon once it's done!

An Update and a Kiriko showoff

Well I've been working on multiple things still, and this one was yet another detour.. was originally just going to update the model with the new skin since I liked it, but.. liked it enough to do this quickie. With blender 4.0 release I also had to update her technical side (rig) and Mercy's as well, which I'm working with both for my next animation, yes kinda halloween themed still because time constraints, so fine, I'm doing it now even if I'm late.

The annoying side of this logistics, technical work, is I don't really get a lot to post, for now I bear with it the hope it'll pay off when it's ready, at least Kiriko and Mercy kinda are now. For my anime style stuff that I'm still studying and working on, that will probably come after the next animation. Sigh.. I hope that doesn't take until after new years eh? Alright now for the update on what I'm up to, first off I am aiming to get a halloween themed animation soon but that's a work in progress, and honestly it may be a little dry  in posts for now until they're done, and that is also because I've been using my spare time to learn some new things in blender. That's the gist of it, if you're interested in more details read on.

On the more technical side of that, I'm figuring out some methods to use blender's new hair system for my characters although I don't think the difference will be that crazy or noticeable compared to the current method, I believe it'll be wortwhile since simulating it seems to be a bit better plus some other customization options.

And one other thing that has taken a lot of my time is 2D/Toon/anime style shading, now that is a godamn rabbit hole and not very straightforward compared to your usual PBR, "realistic" style rendering. Thankfully I've learned quite a bit of what I wanted to in that end, and I've been looking forward to trying something different from my usual style and characters, however it'll take another while until I setup the characters for an animation plus the scene and whatever else comes up.

Frankly I do get a little anxious going a while without having much to show for it until it's "ready" but that's just how it is in those situations, I think it'll be fun and worthwhile in the end. Thank you for patronage, I'll be back.

Frankly I do get a little anxious going a while without having much to show for it until it's "ready" but that's just how it is in those situations, I think it'll be fun and worthwhile in the end. Thank you for patronage, I'll be back.

(Overwatch) More of Tats/Kiri and some plans ahead

I just really really enjoyed working with her and this scene.. almost a bit hard to move on. Expect just one more post soon-ish, with the re-render of the first part for better consistency and putting both parts together.

Next up I'll be focusing on what I got in mind for halloween, I wanna do some good stuff for it. And starting it right now should give me some extra time to do all that I want to do for it, more details when I'm confident on how it's coming along. Of course I hope to not keep you all waiting too long, we shall see how it goes.

And there is just one more thing but.. when I'm also feeling confident with that and ready, since it is a bit early to commit for now. Look forward to that in due time, thanks for reading and being here.

(Overwatch) Tatsumaki/Kiriko part 2 (30 FPS)

The excruciating downtime during rendering where I can do nothing but wait. And pray there's no errors or things to fix (there always is) but finally it's done. Audio version soon. (Now updated with audio)

Will soon put this and the previous part together, why not now? Because I've changed a few things and I'd like to make it more consistent when they're together so I'll render the previous part again with a few changes (nothing crazy, just stuff like the nightsky to better match). Plus the color grading is a bit different, thanks to the new blender 4.0 using AgX but I quite liked it.

Other than that I've got a few ideas that will be another change of pace, but much to learn and study ahead. Thank you all for your patronage, see ya in a bit <3
