MAPS Test Film - Patreon exclusive film

DOUBLE DEUCE - short film early access

Hello Patrons!

After releasing Island, I wanted to make something really dumb and fun. This weekend I made Double Deuce!

Moving forward, all of my short films will be released a week early on Patreon for all tiers. After a week on Patreon, they will release on my YouTube and Vimeo. 

As I figure out what my next feature will be, I will be making at least one short film a week, so there'll be plenty to look forward to.

Double Deuce is a legendary action movie by director Heavy Daniels. Here, Daniels presents a deleted scene that didn't make the final cut.

IMPORTANT JOEL HAVER PATREON UPDATE - PLEASE READ!

Hello Patrons!

My new movie is coming out April 1st! That's right! April 1st!

Here is a quick poster I threw together for it! Which doubles as the title reveal!

With Island being my first project released properly through my Patreon system, I decided to put some careful thought into how I would like to run the Patreon moving forward.

Firstly, due to restrictions with how Patreon works, I had to switch to a monthly plan in order for my early access plan to work. This means you'll be charged on the first of every month you're pledged. Conveniently, April 1st is when my movie is releasing so it will essentially be the same deal. If you wish to continue paying ONLY per major project, I recommend cancelling your pledge for the months when a project is not releasing and pledge for one month whenever a new project comes out. You can still follow my Patreon for updates without pledging to stay in the know.

However, because of the new monthly structure I will aim to make it more enticing to stay subscribed. I will provide frequent Patron exclusive updates on projects I'm working on as well as having every short film I make debut a week early through Patreon. 

Secondly, I will be completely overhauling my tier system. Early Access will now only be $5, think of it as a matinee ticket to the latest movie. I'll be adding higher tiers that will give you special rewards such as producer credits on projects and custom artwork. Stay tuned for that.

Thirdly, Early Access will now last until the next project is complete. This means Island will be available only through Patreon for MONTHS, not just one!

New Feature Film COMING SOON!

Here is a still of an early test I did for my next film! This is the first time anyone is seeing anything from this project!

I'm in the midst of editing the film now! Shot over December, January and February, I'm excited to say I've made my most challenging film yet! From beginning to end this film was made entirely alone, I act as the film's director, producer, writer, cinematographer, lead actor, editor, you name it.

The film will be done by the end of March. Expect a early-mid Spring release, where Patreon donors will be able to see it a FULL MONTH before everyone else!

Before release I'll be doing some restructuring of how my Patreon works. Existing donors won't have to change anything, but I'm beginning to explore more exciting rewards I can offer.

For the last couple months I've been creating my next feature film! It's going to be a doozy. I am aiming to have shooting done by the end of February, but the film itself is a sort of puzzle I'm piecing together as I go so we'll see how that goes!

Some small projects to tide y'all over!

With I'M GOING TO BE FAMOUS, 31 Days in Marshall, North Carolina and Taking a Little Time to Feel Sorry for Myself all completed and released, my backlog of films is empty. This means I'm gearing up to start my next major projects, but realistically it'll be a little while before you see one.

31 DAYS PREMIERE and PATREON RESTRUCTURE

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT POST!!!

This past weekend, Dylan Dexter and I returned to Marshall, North Carolina, where we filmed 31 Days in Marshall, North Carolina last July. We had the immense pleasure of screening the film for the town, with well over 200 people showing up to the premiere!

This project was an absolutely formative experience and it will greatly change my Patreon moving forward.

Firstly, I'm going to get more serious about actually spreading the word, so that means more Patrons and therefore more frequent posts and updates.

Secondly, 31 Days in Marshall, North Carolina represents a new direction I want to take for my Patreon.

Instead of monthly donations, the page will change to donations collected per major project release. Major projects are either feature length films or webseries. So these donations will be infrequent, but more impactful.

Things like $10 will get Patrons early access to these projects before they release online. Without getting too conceptual, it'll be like my movies' limited theatrical runs and instead of paying corporations the money will all go to making the next projects possible. I hope this can be the start of something beautiful.

I’M GOING TO BE FAMOUS - SERIES FINALE AND WHAT’S NEXT

This is it. Last August I began early prep for I’M GOING TO BE FAMOUS and now, a little less than a year later, the series is complete. I hope you’ve been following along and enjoy this climatic finale.

Projects like this wouldn’t be possible without all of my collaborators and supporters.

Now, you might be wondering what’s next. Well, I’ve got good news!

Last summer my friend and I lived in a trailer in rural Marshall, North Carolina for the entire month of July! While living there, we met the locals and created a feature length movie with them! This month, I’m returning to Marshall to screen the film and shortly after on AUGUST 31st the movie will be released for free on Vimeo!
