my computer decided to suddenly crash today and this happened to the .psd file where i had saved the drawing. from 30 layers it all turned into this pixelated mess
good thing is that i saved it twe days before in a png so with the magic of rendering and the selection wand i managed to continue working on this no problem
i turned it into a painting type drawing for some reason. ahh
dunno, it looks better (? plus 've heard people like to see bgs in art so i may just commit to it

so uhmm, as you noticed i did finally get my new hardware today and i've been getting used to it. have my initial FANON concepts for sett's dad, mr. "old dog"
he's a human giant and, unlike sett, he despises fighting for money. he fights because he wants to and because it "represents a man's soul". he's a lot more experienced than sett so when they finally meet, sett's daddy teaches him a lesson he'll never forget

a trade i arranged for a friend of mine way back i don't remember when but that i finally finished after 4 days of "art block" which ended up being just me having... issues with my hormone balance... fuck that shit man.
it has been a struggle, yes, but a brief one.
here's a coloured wip from the wip wall i posted back at the end of july or something
i forced myself to colour it cuz i was feeling awful for not being able to do anything during the inbalance. i plan on rendering it with my new drawing tablet (at last i'm upgrading my gear) but i gotta wait till i get the last piece, the one i mentioned a day ago.
and this lovely rivi sketch i did which i am not sure if i'll finish but i hope i will
and i think that's it. i still got a bunch of commissions to tackle but i don't think they'll be much of a hassle. bout to start school next week aswell.

can you believe that figuring out the colours took me like one and a half hours
because i can't.
it has been ages since i made any design of my own so i gotta give myself some credit. i dont make designs often because i find designs very personal and i dont wanna spend a lot of energy and time onto a design that's gonna gather dust forever. that's why my ocs don't even have any reference sheets of their own (and i draw them every once in a while)
all of their mechanical gadgets have an especific use. don't think they're there for eyecandy. the things on sett's shoulders, the googles, the hearing aids, the battery that seems to be tied to aphel's thighs... battle academia doesn't have mecha stuff in it but man i do crave some cool mech aids on these characters.

no one will stop me from making a lengthy ass bio for these designs. god forbid i reverse to the devianart era where every oc had a 4 paragraph story directly tied to their concept.
adding unnecesary details is my comfort
either ways, these stills should be ready by tomorrow. then i'll work on the weapons and start designing a sheet layout.

the collab i was talking about. these are the first 3 pages out of 7-8 that i hope to have this finished within a month. i want to render them in a way that i honour the original source while adding a little of how i imagined the scene.
this is not the final layout. these are just some panel storyboards. i'll organize them later.

and this i'm working on. lots of funny toys will be laying around. i'll be posting it later today. the weekend was very absorbing cuz i had to attent to the wedding of a familiar of mine. it was awesome BUT tiring. i did not drink but i ate a lot of sweets :)
