Vampires Releases - Week 1 / Week 2 / Week 3

City of Ravenfall - 10 Variants

Ravenfall is the capital of the principality of Heranod and seat of The Acedia bloodline of vampires. Its advantageous position at the confluence of the river Corvus and Valroka has led not only to its long term prosperity but the name of the city itself. Find out more about Ravenfall on Legendkeeper HERE

We have fully mapped out a grand total of NINE locations throughout the city! The last two to join the roster being:

Hangman’s Bridge - 11 Variants

The fate of those who break the law in Ravenfall is almost always a short drop and sudden stop. The Wailing tower with its mournful bell, the last thing they will see and hear.

The grisly remains of the convicted stand as a reminder to the living not to anger the Masters.

and Ravenfall Market - 9 Variants

Much to be purchased and sold in the markets of Ravenfall, some things that you would rather not see perhaps, Bloodwine and Fleshweave Cloth to name but two…

Ravenfall on Legend Keeper

As many of you will know, Ravenfall is one of the locations in our setting of the Fallen Kingdom and so I have added the a page for the city as well as linked all of the locations and maps so you can more easily navigate it.

You can access it HERE

Free Map: Middle Earth

Well hello you fine folks!

Since you liked the Beleriand map I dropped a few days ago I thought I would also share my latest incarnation of Middle Earth too!

Also drawn on a plane if you can believe it but this time it was on the outbound flight while my new wife was sleeping!

Tolkien's world has a special place in my heart which is likely why I keep coming back to refine my interpretation of it again and again over the years!

October Release Week One - Grimshaw Manor, Hidden Cavern and Ravenfall Docks

Howdy adventurers!

If you want to get involved in writing the adventure then jump over to Discord and give us a shout in Writer's Corner.

As you can see we have lots more maps planned to flesh out the city to keep an eye out in the coming weeks.

Grimshaw Manor - 11 Variants

The home of eccentric vampire nobleman, Isaac Grimshaw, this grand manor holds many dark secrets and lingering threats to test your party.

Hidden Cavern - Variants

Located behind one of Ravenfall’s waterfalls, a rarely used cave system could offer your players a secret way into Castle Ravenfall. A potential ally is said to lurk within, not to mention a dark threat.

Ravenfall Docks - 11 Variants

At the bustling river wharfs of Ravenfall you can run into all sorted. Of late though, it is the twisted bodies that wash up at the docks that is of most concern.

Free Map: The Realms of Beleriand and Halloween Patreon Adventure

Hi all!

I’m back in the office and having taken some time off to get married and go on my honeymoon and I have lots to catch you up!

Free Map: Beleriand

First things first, what else was I going to do on a 10 hour flight other than draw a map of Beleriand!?

I mean if being sandwiched in the middle seat after wholly failing to leverage the fact that it was honeymoon to score a free upgrade failed, what else could I do other than put my own spin on Tolkien’s famous lost land?

Some of you may know that I had an almost complete version of this map at the start of the year before my Ipad died and I lost it, so I'm glad to finally have the chance to go back and redo it.

What is going on in October?

As many of you will know, our theme for this month is Vampires,  having tied for the top spot in the recent poll and narrowly winning in a run off vote we held on Discord last week.

So not only will we be creating lots of vampire inspired maps but we will also be writing a halloween themed adventure over on our Discord server.

We have already thrown some ideas around so find more info below as well as WIPs of some of the maps as they stand.

Patreon Halloween Adventure: Writers Wanted

Before I get stuck into the proposed adventure, if you want to get involved in helping write it then jump over to our Discord server and give us a shout in Writer’s Corner.

Proposed Adventure Framework

  • Rejoice, there is going to be a wedding! The great vampire bloodlines of House Acedia and House Serajar are to be bound in unholy matrimony between their respective heirs. The first such union between rival families in the history of Noctis.

  • Such a potential shift in the balance of power in the region is sure to attach the attention of many interested parties

  • House Acedia - Lords of Ravenfall and the groom's family are famously reclusive. Such a wedding offers a unique opportunity to gain access to Castle Ravenfall and the secrets it contains.

  • One such secret is rumoured to be The Crimson Chalice, an ancient artefact said to contain the blood of the legendary Vampire King Amun Drakarla.

  • House Serajar, the bride’s family, are playing their own cynical game, using the wedding as a ruse to destroy a rival family and take the chalice for their own dark purposes.

  • Players will investigate the City of Ravenfall and learn of; townsfolk being abducted by thugs called The Baggers, rumours of a Vampire Hunter, dark experiments and mutilated corpses.

  • They must also find a way into the castle, do they:

    • Bluff their way in as guests

    • Sneak in through a hidden passage only The Baggers know about

    • Join a vampire’s entourage

    • Or perhaps some other hair brained scheme.

      • Act One: Investigation

        • Maps

          • City of Ravenfall  - Production

          • Raven Fall Docks - Production

          • Marketplace / Tavern / Chapel / Alleys - Pre-Production

        • Introduction to Ravenfall

        • Learn of wedding and its significance

        • Townsfolk being abducted

        • Mutilated corpses being discovered

        • Rumours of a vampire hunter

        • Learn of the Crimson Chalice

City of Ravenfall - Work In Progress

Ravenfall Docks - Work In Progress

  • Act Two: Getting in the Castle

    • Maps: Grimshaw Manor / Hidden Cave - Production

    • Finding the Hidden Passage

    • Finding help and or info at Grimshaw Manor

    • Evidence of dark experiments on missing townsfolk

Grimshaw Manor - Work In Progress

Hidden Cavern - Work In Progress

  • Act Three: The Wedding

    • Maps: Ravenfall Castle - Pre Production

    • Having gained entrance to the castle the player witness the betrayal of House Seajar as they move against their hosts

    • Save  the missing townsfolk

    • Secure the Chalice

    • Defeat the Vampires

    • Escape

None of the above is set in stone however, it just gives us a jumping off point to try and sculpt a fun adventure around in time for the spooky season.

As I say, if you want to be involved in crafting this adventure, whether by writing a whole section or just offering up a simple encounter we would love to have your input over on Discord.

I think that is everything for now but keep an eye out for our first big release on Thursday where we will be unleashing the first three maps on you :D

September Week 3: Dwarven Thunderbarge, Mazara Castle and New Grove

Well hello you rather excellent human persons!

Today I have three new maps for you, a dwarven airship, a castle on its very own demi plane and a sleepy little village!

Free Download / Initiate Mapmaker ($1) / Journeyman Surveyors ($3) / Master Cartographers ($5)

Make sure to join our Discord Community for more maps and TTRPG content!

Dwarven Airship - 13 Variants

Inspired by the Spirit of Gruni of Warhammer Fantasy fame, this partocular airship is fully prepared for some proper adventuring! Maybe you'll even run across an insane dwarf with a red mohawk and his human companion! ;)

This might also pair nicely with our Dwarven Airship Dock - Thundercliff

Mazara Castle - 9 Variants

A suggestion for our Discord server, this castle once sat upon the material plane but by some dark bargain was ripped into the space between spaces. How will you escape with Demi Plane?

New Grove - 10 Variants

My first every DnD campaign as a DM started with the destruction of a small village called Cutter's Grove, 20 (in game) years later, the cutter's have risen again. Rebuilding their village in the lands of Noctis, they hope for a quiet life, but will they get it?

September Week 2: Rickonolite Dirigable, Port Vermosa, Harpy Nests and Korhall

Hi all!

Today is quite a day for map releases I must say, I have a bit of a treasure trove for you!

An airship, a vampiric settlement, a cliffside battlemap and an entire continent! Lots to get your teeth into :D

Free Download / Initiate Mapmaker ($1) / Journeyman Surveyors ($3) / Master Cartographers ($5)

Make sure to join our Discord Community for more maps and TTRPG content!

Rickonolite Dirigable - 8 Variants

What better way to sail through the sky than abroad your very own dirigible! This was a commission for the great folks over at Sordane Publishing. This airship is part of their latest kickstarter Monsoon, if you haven't already make sure to check it out HERE

Port Vermosa - 12 Variants

The port of Vermosa is another location from our Fallen Kingdom setting and is a major port on the eastern coast of Noctis, the land of vampires.

Ruled over by the sea faring Avarita Bloodline, this busling port clings to the edge of Sarpenosi coast. Vermosa is often the first port of call to any seeking the tread these cursed lands.

Harpy Nests - 11 Variants

This is an old map that I created over a year ago but never got around to finishing, until now that is! Those hot springs sure do look inviting, its a shame that a flock of harpies have taken up residence there....

Korhall - 3 Variants

Last but by no means least is Korhall. I recently put out a call on our Discord server for those patrons that might want their homebrew maps 'glammed up' and DM Dan (among others), jumped at the chance!

So this is the first of those regional maps, Korhall.

The amount of lore DM Dan has for this place is rather vast but here is just a short summary:

In the year 808 PE (Post Emergence), the world of Anor is rebuilding after the last attack of the Selin Tar, with kingdoms preparing for future threats. In the magical land of Korhall, surrounded by the Grey Mountains, city-states like South Port, Mustafor, and Tagrit exist alongside powerful forces such as the Grey Tower mages and nomadic tribes. South Port, ruled by a noble family for 300 years, allies with the Grey Tower and its neighboring cities to maintain peace and security. Meanwhile, the wilds to the west and north harbor dangerous creatures, treasures, and ancient remnants of past battles. Free Animated Map Release: Forest Fire 40x60!

Greetings, adventurers!

Before our regular release later this week I have another animated map for you all!

Based on a suggestion over on our Discord server I sent some time today putting together this brand new map I am making free for everyone, Forest Fire.

Because lets be honest, what better way to wake up a band of adventurers than by seating the surrounding woods on fire!?

Split into 4 different phases you can watch your players start to panic as the flames get closer and closer!

Download the animated maps and stills HERE.

Also, as an added little bonus for all you Master Cartographers ($5) and above I have created the Foundry module for this little fiery delight! Jump over the Foundry Archive to grab it.

Forest Fire Phase 4

Why free?

It’s my way of giving back to this amazing community that supports my work with your hard-earned money.

I’d love your feedback! I’ve animated several maps over the years and want to make them a regular offering here—especially if that’s something you’d be excited to see.

Technical Details:

  • Resolutions: Available in 4k.

  • Formats: MP4 (best for local play on TVs or monitors) and WebM (ideal for VTTs like Foundry).

  • Looping: The maps run on a 60 -second loop to keep file sizes manageable.

-------

I really hope you enjoy these maps, and I’d love to see them in action in your games! If you use them, please share your experience, and feel free to join our Discord community. And of course, consider supporting me on Patreon to gain instant access to hundreds of maps like these!

Cheers and happy adventuring! šŸ—”ļøāš”ļø

September Week 1: Jolly Otter Tavern, Roadblock and Marching Camp

Happy release day you wonderful people!

Today we have our first release for September and quite the release it is, 3 maps and 35 variants.

As you can see in the promo, I have once again designed these maps to be used in tandem or as individual maps and hopefully they will spark lots of awesome adventures for you and your players!

Free Download / Initiate Mapmaker ($1) / Journeyman Surveyors ($3) / Master Cartographers ($5)

Make sure to join our Discord Community for more maps and TTRPG content!

The Jolly Otter

A well appointed roadside tavern, perfect for a pre adventure drink or a meeting with a shady individual not to mention and good old fashioned punch up!

Roadblock

Inconsiderate brigands have blocked the main road, you party might want to think twice about fighting their way through, rumour has it there are more nearby.

Marching Camp

The world is a dangerous place, even for an army. Its best to build a strong camp to rest in, you have no idea what could be lurking out there.

Ruins of the Ancients Week 4: Dwarf Expedition Camp plus 3 maps

Hey all!

Today is our fourth and final release for this month’s theme: Ruins of the Ancients and this time its four brand new maps!

I also have a quick announcement about next month so you’ll find more details of that below.

Free Download / Initiate Mapmaker ($1) / Journeyman Surveyors ($3) / Master Cartographers ($5)

Make sure to join our Discord Community for more maps and TTRPG content!

Dwarf Expedition Camp

Inspired by a suggestion on our Discord server, this map will hopefully spark your imaginations right off the bat! I have images of Balin leading his Dwarven kin to retake their ancient homeland of Khazad Dum. Perhaps paired with some of our other maps such as the Gates of Thul Dergar and Tor Immrek, you can string together a whole adventure.

Broken Crown Tower

Another location in our Fallen Kingdoms setting and inspired by Weathertop from Lord of the Rings, this once grand watchtower now stands in ruins upon the Crown Hills west of Ansburg. Perhaps a group of halflings might shelter there for the night? I’m sure nothing bad will happen to them.

Ruined Shrine

Based on an unfinished map I made about 4 years ago when I was just starting out, the Ruined Shrine is perfect for a one shot or a quick adventure location. Complete with crumbling walls and spooky crypt, there is lots of ā€œheroingā€ to be done here I'm sure.

Serpent Temple

I drew this map as an answer to a request I had for a dungeon that would pair nicely with one of our older maps, Jungle Ruins. Designed to sit beneath the crumbling ziggurat I would suggest not entering this temple if snakes freak you out!

Plans for September

As many of you will know, normally we run a poll every month to decide what the next theme is going to be, for August This was Ruins of the Ancients.

In the latter part of September I am getting married (not so reclusive any more!) and then will be on my honeymoon so whilst our release schedule and quantity will be unaffected I shall be releasing a bit of a ā€˜pot luck’ of maps that I have been working on behind the scenes for this very occasion.

Now this is not to say that I will not still be taking suggestions because I will be! In fact I encourage you to comment on this post with any maps you would like to see, or you can jump over the discord and do it there.

Thats all from me!

Ruins of the Ancients Week 3 - Haverhold - The Ruined Castle

Perched high above the windswept plains of Havarrlan, the once-mighty castle of Havarrhold looms.. Raised by Havar the Mighty, the warrior king whose iron will forged a kingdom, Havarhold, the keystone of his dominion, the heart from which his armies surged forth to command the newly conquered lands.

For six centuries, the castle’s walls grew ever stronger, but its rulers did not. The heirs of Havar, once brave and fierce, became weak, lost in decadence and folly. While the Granite Throne sat vacant in purpose, chiefs and jarls, now blinded by their ambitions, tore at each other like wolves. Havarrlan’s enemies closed in, sensing the decay, while traitors and usurpers bled the realm dry.

In these shadowed times, Havarhold endured siege after relentless siege. One by one, would-be kings claimed the keep, only to see it ravaged, rebuilt, and ultimately left to crumble in despair.

Today, Havarrlan is fractured into three petty kingdoms, each a pale imitation of its former grandeur. Havarrhold, too, stands in ruin, a desolate husk haunted by the ghosts of its past—some say by spirits, but more often by men. Bandits, warlords, and fools have all tried to seize the crumbling crown of Havar, only to meet their doom within its forsaken walls.

And you? What do you seek within old king’s halls?

Hi all!

Today I have for you the ruined castle of Haverhold! Another location from the Fallen Kingdom (our campaign seeting we are working on over on Discord), this keep has certainly seen better days!

Free Download / Initiate Mapmaker ($1) / Journeyman Surveyors ($3) / Master Cartographers ($5)

Make sure to join our Discord Community for more maps and TTRPG content!

Located in the fractured kingdom of Havarrlan, this castle as seen more of its fair share of war. How would you guys use this map in your adventures? What lurks in Haverhold now?

Let me know in the comments!

Ruins of the Ancients Week 2 - Forest Ruins Collab - Includes Old Bridge, Forgotten Catacombs and Scenery Art

So you plan to go to the old ruins in the Ironbark forest? That place has been abandoned for as long as anyone can remember. No one knows what happened to the people who lived there. Some say they just vanished, though others whisper of darker things. Most folks avoid it, what with the strange noises and all.

To get there take the old bridge to the north of town, though watch your step, it’s not as strong as it once was and bandits have a tendency to block it from time to time. From there the ruins are only five miles eastward

It is a strange place to be sure. Some say they have heard whispers from the old well. Gods only know what is down there.

If you’re willing to brave it, I won’t stop you. Just… be careful. I’ve got a bad feeling about ruins.

-Elder Drakmere - Wolven Keep

Well hello you wonderful lot!

Today I have for you another fantastic collaboration with the ever talented James from James’ RPG Art, make sure to check out his page HERE

Free Download / Initiate Mapmaker ($1) / Journeyman Surveyors ($3) / Master Cartographers ($5)

Make sure to join our Discord Community for more maps and TTRPG content!

This time we have 3 maps for our theme Ruins of the Ancients, all suggested on our Discord server.

Forest Ruins

For which we also have the wonderful scenery art from James!

Old Bridge

and Forgotten Catacombs

I designed the maps to complement each other, as you can see in the trailer ;), but also perfectly able to stand on their own if needed.

With 35 variants spread across 3 maps that isn’t half bad for one release!

New Foundry Module - Castle Netherbane

I have just released a new module over on the Foundry Archive, Castle Netherbane, so make sure to check that out when you have a chance.

šŸŽ‰ Free Animated Map Release: Castle Siege! šŸ°šŸ”„

Greetings, adventurers!

Before our regular release tomorrow, I’m thrilled to share something special with you: a brand-new animated map! Well, two maps, actually—or four, if we’re getting technical!

Remember the Castle Siege battlemap we released a few months ago? Even back then, it was practically begging to be animated. Now, I’ve finally brought it to life in both day and night versions, and I’m making them available for free to everyone in our community.

Download Here

Why free?

It’s my way of giving back to this amazing community that supports my work with your hard-earned money.

I’d love your feedback! I’ve animated several maps over the years and want to make them a regular offering here—especially if that’s something you’d be excited to see.

Technical Details:

  • Resolutions: Available in both 8K and 4K.

  • Formats: MP4 (best for local play on TVs or monitors) and WebM (ideal for VTTs like Foundry).

  • Split Maps: The map is divided into two parts—Castle Wall and Camp—due to its size, ensuring smoother playback.

  • Looping: The maps run on a 30-second loop to keep file sizes manageable.

I really hope you enjoy these maps, and I’d love to see them in action in your games! If you use them, please share your experience, and feel free to join our Discord community. And of course, consider supporting me on Patreon to gain instant access to hundreds of maps like these!

Cursed City of Ansburg - Settlement Map - Ruins of the Ancients

Ansburg may have been a great city once, some even called it the jewel of the North, before The Fall that is, before the great shadow swallowed it whole. We Gloom Wardens just call it the Cursed City now, and cursed it is.

It was during the Crusade for the Dawn that Ansburg was condemned. The priests and the king declared it lost, tainted beyond redemption by the very vampire they fought.

The city was to be purged, cleansed in fire and blood and so it was. Such slaughter, such betrayal. It left an indelible scar on the world, and thus came the shadow.

Even centuries later, the city still festers with the restless dead. The shades of the fallen, haunting the crumbling streets, forever bound to the stones soaked with their blood.

Wraiths and shadows lurk in every corner, watching….waiting for the living to cross their path.

Wait till you hear the screams…gods the screams. They’ll strip a man of his courage and leave him hollow and broken. His very soul, withered to dust.

So mark my words and mark them well. Leave Ansburg to its shadows and its sins. No good can come from walking where the damned hold sway.

- Kaels Fields - First Captain of the Gloom Wardens

Hi all!

Happy release day! Today is our first release for this month’s theme: Ruins of the Ancients and what better way to kick that off than by creating a city so cursed that it has been engulfed by shadow?

I present to you the Cursed City of Ansburg.

Free Download / Initiate Mapmaker ($1) / Journeyman Surveyors ($3) / Master Cartographers ($5)

Make sure to join our Discord Community for more maps and TTRPG content!

A principal location in our slowing growing campaign setting, the Fallen Kingdom, this city has seen its share of hardship. The site of a great crime that effectively kickstarted the Fall centuries ago. Plunging the realm into ruin and decay.

We have a fair bit of lore for Ansburg and over the next few days I’ll update the Legend Keeper article for it so keep an eye out for that!

If you want to get more involved in helping craft this setting then feel free to join us on Discord

This trailer was a bit of fun and features one of my go to NPC voices :D. My question for you though is this: would you use something like this in your own games? A little teaser trailer perhaps to help set the scene?

Let me know in the comments below as I would happily make more of these in the future if it is useful.

Big Bad Boss Rooms Week 3: Mage's Throne Room Includes: Hag Pit and Ice Troll Cave

Happy release day one and all!

Today we have the 3 new maps for our new theme, Big Bad Boss Rooms!

Inspired by the Baldurs Gate 3 boss fight with Lorroakan, the Mage's Throne Room a large room at the top of a tall tower simply bursting with arcane power and potential. Perhaps the rows of dusty tomes might offer some cover from all the spell flying back and forth?

The Hag Pit is a rather unpleasent place, as you might imagine! Full of foul and wicked magic it is the perfect place for a show down with a horiffic coven!

Finally Ice Troll Cave, perfect for some plucky adventurers trying to make a name for themselves or perhaps they stumbled in sneaking shelter suring a blizzard? Either way, a fight isn't fair away im sure!
