Very Quick Solar Update!

That's interesting. Actually, I recall I did read through the fine print with TXU and don't recall seeing anything about that. But, I suppose the worst that can happen is I'll have to change back to another plan. I mean honestly these free nights plans are a rip-off for most people. So I can see how it would be easy to suspect somebody has batteries or solar, basically anyone benefitting from the plan at all. :-)

2025-08-25 15:21:31 +0000 UTCRead the fine print before signing up for one of these plans. My "free nights" electric plan (in Houston) says they will charge you the highest rate all day if they discover/suspect that you have solar panels or batteries.

2025-08-19 14:37:15 +0000 UTCI don't know if it's because I live 10 minutes away from a nuclear power plant or the fact that I don't have EV cars. But my electric bill (SE Tennessee) is about $220/mo during the hottest months and that is running AC 24/7 on THREE floors. We keep the AC set at 67F all the time. During the winter (we have gas heat), our electric bill is about $70/mo or less. Is Texas electric just that expensive?

I got solar installed this past year, and it has covered a majority (if not all) of my electricity, beside the $7 monthly connection fee. I enjoy seeing how low my energy bills have become (as low as $55 some months).
