8-Bit Guy goes to C.E.S. Las Vegas

OK, so this is actually just a bit of filler material. But it does explain why I haven't had any videos in the last month as you'll get to see all of the things I've been working on.  But hopefully you find it entertaining, at least!

Lightyear 2 is expected from 2025 or so. It’s not only the solar surface but also aerodynamics, engines in each wheel and lots of other improvements. I believe they’re also talking with large manufacturers to put some of their enhancements in other cars as well.

Indeed.. Too expensive for me. But I hope the idea catches on. All of these years people kept saying solar didn't make sense on EVs and PHEVs. But I think it can make sense. Toyota is going to have solar on the new Prius Prime, but it's only on the roof. I'd like to see it on the hood too!

Nice to see the Lightyear 0 appear in your video. BEV with as much as possible PV surface and all other improvements to be as efficient as possible.

I enjoyed seeing the quick shots of the various new electric vehicles on display at CES, though I'm waiting for the upcoming refresh of the Audi etron SUV, now called the Q8 etron, as it is supposed to increase the range by about 50%

There used to be a fantastic arcade at (or near?) the MGM Grand hotel.

OMG, you didn't try PSVR2? That would have been my first priority ;-)

I enjoyed the video very much. Just good to see that you recovered from the human malware. I share your thoughts on gambling. The only gambling I ever do is in classic Sierra games such as LSL1 where I can F5/F7 my way out of the “house always wins” predicament.

I haven't been to Vegas since 2009, but when I last went, all the machines took real money, not tokens or tickets or anything, you put in quarters or some of the then newer machines you could put in dollar bills. That's kind of a shame to see it's just a big arcade now. They did have a few of those 'modern' machines back then, again accepting dollars, and I put in $5 into one, hit bet, and lost my money in literally one touch of the screen, and that was the one and only time I used one of them.

Chris Munch

If you do feel the need to gamble, just pull out an old Sierra game. Perhaps play the Slots-o-Death from Space Quest 1.

Can't wait for the other videos Dave!

That was pretty cool! I thought those Optimus Prime robots were CG, at least back in 2015 I was convinced they weren't real. Maybe they're like the Tricorder and flip phones, just took a few years.

It's nice to get away without the kids!
