Arcade Build follow up, and other news.

Sorry for the radio silence the last few weeks.  I've spent most of my time working on shipping the backlog of Genesis games, all 530 copies.  I was also working on a restoration video of a Moonbase arcade machine, which is about 80% done and edited, but I ran into a problem I don't know how to fix with the CRT driver board, so I've had to shelve that video and move on to something else for the moment.

Current projects are:
-Restoration of Apple IIc Plus
-Restoration of early PET-style Commodore VIC-20
-Documentary on ISEPIC cartridge for C64
-Moonbase restoration
-Sinclair C5 documentary

I am actually looking for some help in these areas if any of you can offer your advice in the form of a phone call:
-Looking for an expert in the HVAC industry to answer some questions for an upcoming episode.  I don't need technical information for how stuff works, more how the industry works.
-Looking for somebody very familiar with using the ISEPIC cartridge on the C64.
-Looking for help repairing a CRT board.

neat.. Well, I hope you at least found some other games to play!

Finally went over to the Electric Starship Arcade to play some pinball and see this in person…it is REALLY good looking! Cabinet is gorgeous that big crt really displays a nice picture. I didn’t spend enough time trying to learn the gameplay, but it looked good just wandering around the map.

It's fixed now and back in the arcade.

David, have you found someone to help with the CRT board yet? I'm more experienced with older all vacuum tube CRT circuits, but I could probably help out with your arcade board. Do you have a schematic?

John Hiesey

Shame about the CRT. I've actually been looking for an old CRT myself for older game systems, and I've been having a hard time finding one as well.

Can you get a Trinitron and do a "jungle" chip mod?

Amazing video! You guys are both so talented.

SuperTekBoy

Sorry to see the CRT fail but I hope you make a million (or two).

Love it! I will be stopping by the arcade once it’s back! Congrats David it looks like it came out really good.

I can understand the that you want to use a CRT but maybe a generic old 20" LCD TV might be the better choice in terms of reliability. I like CRTs a lot but i am not using them on a regular basis since I have already lost 3 really nice ones over the last 4 years. It is very frustrating to see my stock of replacements dwindle to the point where I have only 2, maybe 3 good color CRTs left.

Cool, very professionally made! I like it! Unfortunately, I don't think I could be of any help with your topics, as I'm too far away to help with the CRT board...

MrHammond

No, we don't. I kind of wanted something like that.

The 8-Bit Guy

Since you’re not sure how many people will play it, I was wondering if you have a play counter in the code? Are you collecting any stats like play time or anything? I’d be interested
