New Mini Pet 40/80D Review

Cool! Someday I wish they would come out with some mini IBM 360 Mainframe 😂 that would be really 😎

This is an awesome project. I love that the PET continues to live, perhaps better than ever today than it did some 40 years ago

The last thing my iPod nano played on my walk home from work today: Cheese and Onions, by the prefab four, Dirk, Nasty, Stig and Barry.

Great thumbnail! Haha

David, I could look at using the full size CNC router at my local maker space, and make a case out of nylon, I can get sheet nylon from 3mm thick all the way upto 50mm thick

I'm quite impressed by the quality of this retro computer! The Pet was before my computer time, I started with C 64 and IBM PC back in the day. Oh wait, there was the used Alphatronic CP/M machine which had a version without and with block character set optional. I dug in deeply, but to find out, our version was without the option for character Block graphics. So I just had a Black Jack game and a 16 Digit Butterfly calculator for relief of punishment calculations, both programmed by my father . Its great to see what you could do back in the day if you had a deeper knowledge of the inner parts and functionality!

Worth mentioning perhaps that Dave Curran, owner of Tynemouth Software and maker of the Mini Pet 40/80D, is also on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/tynemouthsoftware

Yes, those o-rings are for noise dampening, they keep the keys from clacking as they bottom out, my Logitech G710+ keyboard came with those preinstalled. You designed that keyboard fast. Do you have any designs for Amiga 1200 keyboards? I keep putting off building my own Amiga1200 mechanical keyboard circuit board, and the one I keep waiting on keeps getting delayed.

You’ll see an update on that soon. But in a nutshell, genesis and Atari 7800 versions are 99.9% done. Many other versions are close behind such as MSDOS, NES, SNES, etc.

How are the various Petscii Robots ports coming?

Another great fun video! Thank you for all of your hard work!
