I also don't have or play petscii robots, but I love watching your videos on it. It's fascinating and enlightening to see all the hudrles and chalenges that you faced, why they exist and the whole 8-bit history around it. And then if and how you overcome them. Also the insights into the boxing and shipping and everything around it s interesting to know. I don't understand why some people think you make to many of these. It's easy to skim over videos that don't really interest you in my opinion. Anyways, great work!

Also, Better Than Binary would be a great 90's band name...

The short videos are great! Go for it!

Hey David, oral surgery sucks. When your mouth hurts it kinda ruins your mood, I get it. As far as Alec from Technology Connections, I think he’s fairly active on Twitter so you might be able to get him there with @TechConnectify

People should just stop complaining about anything David does. I just read a guy complaining about the lighting in the video - the guy spent 30k to build a studio building in his yard, sorry it’s not enough for you!!!

I am one of those guys who doesn't play video games, but who is very interested in the process and the progress of it. I grew up with the C64 and with DOS, and I am a programmer, but I cannot even fathom how you would program a game like that on 64K of memory or even less, and do it in assembly language, and then do the delicate balancing of enemy strengths and enemy behavior to get the difficulty just right. It is utterly fascinating to me, please keep making those! In general I think that as your audience grows there is always SOMEONE complaining, but there are thousands who don't complain and just enjoy the videos. So unless those videos tank and get a lot of dislikes, don't listen to the few who don't like it. I almost never comment on your things because I have nothing to comment, I enjoy it and I find it very interesting. I always thought that you take your email too seriously. As a public figure with a big audience, of course you will get emails like that. There is no need to engage with them, or wonder how those people think. They might have found you on google or think that because you make videos about computers that you can do everything that has anything to do with electronics and of course do things for them for free. It just comes with the audience. But one thing: Many people (myself included) don't have English as their first language and some also did not finish high school and are not very proficient in writing, let alone in a foreign language, so I don't think that you can judge them on their bad English alone. As for the $10.000 dental bill: You don't even need to be poor or homeless, but someone with a lower middle class job and a family who lives paycheck to paycheck and can just make ends meet, that amount is almost half a year of salary and how is that even possible for them? Even if they are determined about saving the money for it, that will take years! In Sweden we don't get dental care for free, but I don't think that operation would be even near that much as the government healthcare will take a big chunk of it.

Mere politics, I'm a patron of both, and every time his name is mentioned over there it's a bunch of people "I don't watch him anymore because of X political statement about firearms from X years ago"

From Alec's Discord channel, when someone asked about your video: Alec (Mr. TechConnectify) — 12/07/2021 I just read through what everybody posted and, let's just say, you've arrived at why I feel this is a bit of a pickle. I don't want to make decisions merely to please a small portion of people, but I'm also very attuned to the ~situation~ as it were. But more simply I have no expertise to lend - I don't have a CO2 monitor and I can confidently state that if you're looking for emergency heat and light sources a Dietz lantern is objectively terrible because it doesn't burn cleanly at all, and I wouldn't be comfortable with a pressure lamp, either. I would go with a propane lantern with a few bottles of propane and a dedicated kerosene heater if you wanted to roll with kerosene. Though actually I would probably just go all propane and get a CO2 monitor and CO alarms. IMO there's no need to maximize runtime thriftiness for an emergency heat or power source. I would rather maximize ease and safety. My videos on the lanterns weren't really meant to be advice on emergency heat/light. Frankly I think that if you have the budget at $500 genset, 10 gallons of gas on-hand, and a propane heater with a tank or two will meet needs far better than kerosene anything.'

Your videos would be enhanced with some studio lighting. Even a ringlight would make a world of difference.

Really excited about the short form video idea. Maybe a relaxed script on those videos to make it even easier for you too. Either way, I'll watch! Best wishes from Oklahoma ❤️

I'm not going to buy PETSCII robots, I don't have any machine I could play the game on and I don't really have time to play video games anyway, but I still enjoy David's videos about the development process, so I think it's perfectly fine. As for contacting Alec from Technology Connections, I was under the impression that there was bad blood between David and Alec? Did I get this wrong?
