Just a written update this time.

Just wanted to let everyone know what has been going on with the channel and with me.  I usually do these as video updates but just haven't been able to find the spare time the last month or so.  So this time it will just be text.  But I'll keep it short and to the point.

The main thing consuming about 90% of my time the last month has been juggling the 7 different ports of Petscii Robots that are in the works.  Even though other people are coding these ports, I've been heavily involved in nearly every aspect of these.  The very next video you'll be seeing will be covering some of these ports.  The C128 and Plus/4 ports are now complete and even available on the store (but I haven't announced it yet).  The Amiga port is probably 80% done, the NES port is close behind.  The SNES, Genesis, and MS-DOS ports are not nearly as far along.

I also just had oral surgery this morning.  One of my molars had a cracked root and had to be extracted.  What's worse is I was already missing the molar right next to it for similar reasons.  It was removed 5 years ago.  So, this would make the right side of my mouth unusable for chewing.  To remedy this, they also did a bone-graft and a titanium implant.  I will have to go back in a couple of months and get another implant for the tooth they just removed.  Anyway, so I've spent most of the day laying in bed with a swollen jaw and gauze  in my mouth.  I think I'm going to be out of commission for a few more days with this.

So, what else is coming down the pipeline?  Well, It turns out I'll eventually be able to show off that Sinclair C5 after all.  I finally got some help repairing that.  It's not done yet, but it's coming along.

I also built a solar backup system, among other things, to prepare for the next power outage.  It's not a full solar install like most people have.  It's just a small system that can keep 1 or 2 rooms running in the house.  But I think you'll find it really interesting.  I've been filming on this for about 6 months as one of the long-term projects.  I'm hoping to complete this video in November or December.

I bought one of these modern speak-and-spells that look identical to the original.  I'm planning to compare it to the original both inside and out.

Remember that little black Samsung TV I use all of the time?  An old AST buddy recently donated another one to me.  And then a random fan on the internet that also worked at AST (but I never knew them) donated me a 3rd.  But it appears the composite input jacks are physically broken.  I'm planning to do some sort of repair on that for a video.

So those will probably be the primary videos for the rest of 2021.  Who knows, there could be a surprise or two.  The NES restoration was sort of a spur of the moment thing, for example.

I'm also about to be expanding the studio - sort of.  The little 65 sq.ft room that is on the side is about to be annexed.  I'm putting an interior door between that room and the main studio room.  It's going to primarily be just shelves and storage for me to use, so you won't really see anything different.  I don't think I'm going to film anything related to that.  But that's another project I'm working on.  But it does mean I'll be adding about 28% more space for me to use when working in the studio.  My wife and I worked out an agreement to move the stuff in that space somewhere else.

Have you done your due diligence regarding this topic? When it comes to knowledge it shouldn't matter if it is a random video from Rumble or someone was accused of something, You should do your own research and come to your own conclusion.

Right, but we can trust some random rumble post and Adreas Klacker who has been charged with multiple frauds in his life and more recently the death of a person who used this. "It's easier to fool someone than to convince them they've been fooled."...

Thanks

John

Dismissing it without checking is not very smart. It actually is very dumb. It is as dumb as blindly trusting the main stream media.

Sure it is. https://andreaskalcker.com/en/

Nicolas, thank you for the well-wishes. Unfortunately, I must agree with Michael Lee in regards to the website you sent. This is in the same classification as homeopathic medicine, or witch doctors, faith healers, or any other number of things.

The 8-Bit Guy

That's medical misinformation, plain and simple.

Thanks for the update. Great news about the C5. I've really been looking forward to that video

Dave Hunt

I'd say original playstation is unlikely.

The 8-Bit Guy

Hope you'll get well soon. Any chance of seeing PETSCII Robots being ported to PlayStation?

Hope you feel better David, thank you always for you great and informative videos. Can’t wait for the things coming down the pipeline

Thank you for the update David. I just started watching your videos about three months ago and I absolutely enjoy them. Feel better soon.

You have a lot of exciting stuff going on. I am interested in what you are doing with incorporating solar. I am in the early stages of incorporating a windmill and I am hoping there will be some useful bits of info I can apply to my situation. Also, super excited about PETSCII robots invading many systems!

CubicleNate

I take it that the c128 version utilise the full 128k.

C5 video: The 8-Bit Guy C4 video: Mythbusters In any case, get well soon, and long live PETSCII Robots!
