When going up stairs at night, do you sometimes feel that totally irrational, anxious vulnerability…that something is suddenly gonna start chasing you up the stairs?

Nothing triggers the ol’ Fight or Flight response quite like rapid footsteps growing ever louder. As to your question, dear Rob; if it’s spiral-like stair, such as in fire exits in apartment buildings, I’m more mindful of something springing out in front of me 😅
