Full Of It #312 - The Manhattan Alien Abduction
Added 2024-11-03 00:00:04 +0000 UTC
In November of 1989, New York resident Linda Napolitano was allegedly abducted from her apartment in Lower Manhattan. She reported the incident to UFO researcher Budd Hopkins, who later claimed to have found over two dozen witnesses who saw Napolitano that night, floating above her building. Their story is the focus of The Manhattan Alien Abduction, a new Netflix docuseries which also features Hopkins' ex-wife Carol - a staunch doubter of the occurence. Enter Lymp.

Great podcast. As usual, I learned some new things. Ufologist, UAP. Clearly I'm out of the loop re aliens. The coil implant gives rise to questions. I assume it was removed. Was it chemically tested/analyzed? Love this pod and that you always make me laugh even when discussing thought provoking topics. π€β€οΈ π½πΈ

Full of it seems like the only pure thing left this week! The 3 hour cut of the holiday vid feels like the 3 hour cut of Dr Sleep (Mike Flanagan pod when?) it still seemlessly tells the story just gives you more context. Will be a regular repeat

I am so disappointed with the elections in America. Who would have thought that the American people would vote for a demonic criminal? Not me!
For today I am going to treat myself to a binge-listening to "Full of It". What is happening in the world right now, no ghost, spirit and/or other scary things can match it and it softens the real scaryness in the world today.

maybe there were hardly any witnesses because no one OPENS THE DOOR FOR A NATIVE NEW YORKERRR π€ππΆ
also im wondering if both things can be true: like she did (or fully believes she did) have this experience with aliens, and her and bud are also fabricating certain things in order to make her story seem more credible? if you believe something so much, would you lie to get other people to believe it? much to consider

I'm with Nova on this one, what an absolute pile! As if there'd be nobody on the streets of manhattan, not a CCTV camera or dashcam or anything? To capture this woman floating out her window? Keeping an open mind is one thing, but this just spreading your cheeks and walking into oncoming traffic.

I used to be shit scared of aliens as a kid. There was this book in our school library about UFOs that said βif you encounter an alien, donβt think about being abducted because they will read your mind and take youβ. I thought that was most terrifying thing and used to lay awake at night in fear. (Itβs very βdonβt think of an elephantβ)

Lovely pod as always, Lymp. That ending to Don't F**k With Cats made me so irrationally angry. It was so smug and felt so orchestrated to try and divert criticism to making a fame-hungry sicko famous with their documentary.
I remember listening to a podcast where the hosts reported on a UFO convention in Texas and the thing that stuck with me is that ufologists are obsessed with Ellie Goulding. They invite her every year. Her song Lights is their anthem. This needs to be more widely known, surely??

I like the explanation of why there were so few witnesses is because New Yorkers know to mind their own business and not stick their heads out where they don't need to be. It's very much giving the "Okay, yeah" cutaway
Also the idea of men in black is terrifying to me. I remember as a kid my friend's sister told us about them when we were discussing scary stories. In her recollection of the phenomenon the reason for their uncanny appearance is due to them being human/alien hybrids as part of a secret post-Roswell government program and hearing that at 11 kept me up many nights

I admire your attitude to this, Lymp. Most people, especially skeptics, wouldn't sit through something and give it such consideration.
